Setting Up a GoToWebinar Connection

GoToWebinar is the most popular service used for creating webinar events. Here's a quick video that demonstrates how you can set up an API connection for GoToWebinar:

Check out this post to learn more about API connections in Thrive Leads and Thrive Content Builder. Note that you can add more than one connection to a form, so you can easily add another connection, in order to sign new leads up to an autoresponder service as well.

  • Hey Shane

This is great idea to increase conversions.

Have you thought of integrating with Webinar Jam? This is would be great functionality as I do not use Gotowebinar.

    Cheers

    Warren

    • Hi Warren,

If there’s enough demand, we’ll look into an integration with WebinarJam, yes. Currently, there are no plans for it yet.

  • This is awesome Shane! I love the idea about the instant gratification to help increase conversions. I’m using all the Thrive themes and plugins on our WP multi-site for our members and we’re launching a live / auto webinar software in the next month or so. I would love to speak with you about integrating our webinar platform with Thrive to allow for auto-webinars and selecting multiple times and dates. Keep up the great work you guys are doing!

  • Great ideas and follow through, especially with the option to give away something while signing up and opting in.
    Question!
Does it matter which webinar platform is being used? I have Webinar Jam and would like to use it. A good thing as well is to handout some info for the participants to be ale to be prepared and come to the webinar with good questions. We know that good questions are worth a lot, so this would make a lot of sense.

    • Hello Gerhard,

We have an API connection only for GoToWebinar. Other webinar platforms could work as well, but only if they provide an HTML signup form template that you can use with our HTML integration.

  • Hi Shane,

The webinar pages are awesome. Are you going to offer integrations with other webinar providers, such as WebinarJam, Webinar Fusion and the like> GoToWebinar is very cost prohibitive and I know many people have other webinar solutions.

    Thanks,

    Jim Gonzalez
    Thrive Leads User.

    • Hello Jim,

Additional integrations depend purely on demand. If enough people request an integration with a certain platform, we’ll look into it.

  • Shane – I saw in your video that the Name field could be made optional or required. I have had issues in the past when trying to register people for GoToWebinar events with only an email field – as I recall, GTW requires that there be a name attached to the registration. Has that changed? Or are you doing some other “magic” behind the scenes to fill in some placeholder info (such as putting “Friend” or something else into the name field if there is no other information available)?

    • Hello Enoch,

You don’t have to worry about that with our integration. You can choose to collect emails only or name and email and the registration to the webinar will work in both cases.

  • Love these! I used one for my webinar on Wednesday and for the first time ever I used the countdown timer. It had an amazing impact on the amount of people registering. Is there any chance you can integrate them with Stealth Seminar? I like your pages better than theirs. I’ve a live call with some sales professionals tomorrow and demoing how they can use this in their marketing is at the top of the agenda. Thank you Shane and all the people at Thrive, you make amazing tools x

    • Hello Sarah,

Thanks for your comment! If there’s enough demand for a Stealth Seminar integration, we’ll consider it. 🙂

      • +1 for Stealth Seminar integration.

Stealth is Frank Kern’s webinar platform of choice and many of the folks I work with who are student’s of Frank are also Thrive users.

Currently we can use Thrive to send folks to the Stealth registration page but we can’t populate the correct date/time fields with Thrive alone.

    • Hello Byron,

Thanks for your comment. We don’t have any plans for new integrations yet, but if there’s enough demand for a particular service we consider it.

      • Another vote for meetingburner — is there a way to do it with just the HTML code from meeting burner?

      • If MeetingBurner makes an HTML form available, you can integrate using that, yes.

  • Striking the visitor with an offer so powerful they cannot resist. The freebie combination can generate more leads for the webinar. Any plans for integration with Webinar Hero?

    • Hello Didier,

We don’t have any plans for additional integrations yet. If there’s enough demand for a specific service, we’ll consider creating it.

  • Love the work you guys do… my request along with many others is… WebinarJam Studio integration please! 🙂

GTW is just not an option because of the skyhigh pricing and… that there are so many alternatives out there. However, the challenge for you guys is… there are so many alternatives out there.

You can’t possibly integrate with all those alternatives and need to select which to develop. May I suggest that WebinarJam Studio is a worthy contender for your time and effort. Mike and Andy have done well to put a sizable dent in GTW’s market share over the past few years.

I attend webinars regularly and the two most popular seem to be GTW and WebinarJam Studio.

  • This looks absolutely fantastic Shane – love the counter and the Double whammy option. I use Click Webinar – can I integrate it with that do you think? – Ellen

    • Hello Ellen,

We’ll count this as one vote for a Click Webinar integration. We do new integrations based on the amount of demand we see for specific ones.

    • Hi Mike,

The best way is to add a download link on the last page in this funnel. Depending on your opt-in process that’s either the page you redirect visitors to after signing up or the page they see after confirming their email address. Check out this post for a detailed tutorial.

  • As I switched from GoToWebinar to WebinarJam, I would add also highly appreciate integration with WebinarJam.

  • Another request for Webinar Jam integration, or at least a tutorial on how to use it with your HTML option.

I’m sure there’s a way, but i’m not a coder enough to be able to do it on my own.

  • Hi … in the blog post you say you’ll show us how to register a lead for both GTW and our autoresponder … yet the video or post don’t actually show how you do that. I can easily setup a connection to my GTW account … but then don’t see anywhere that I can add a second connection to my autoresponder (Infusion)

Can you please explain exactly how to do this?

    • Hello Nic,

I might make a separate tutorial about it, but it’s really simple. The fact is that you can add more than one API connection to an opt-in form. So, you follow the process in this video to connect to GTW and then you follow basically the same process again (starting with “add new connection”) for your autoresponder.

  • Awesome job Shane, as always! Have you planed to integrate these templates directly in thrive leads?

    • Hello Alexandre,

Page templates will remain in Thrive Landing Pages and opt-in form templates in Thrive Leads. Although you can, of course, create Thrive Leads opt-in forms that will add your leads to a GoToWebinar event.

  • question if you send people to the go to webinar (gotowebinar api) then they will not go to your autoresponder will they? sooo my question is why connect to go to webinar?

    • The connection to GoToWebinar and the connection to your mailing list are two separate things. If you only connect to GoToWebinar, then subscribers won’t be added to your mailing list. That’s why you should connect to GoToWebinar and your mailing list in the same form.

  • Great pages and super idea on instant gratification. How could I use these pages to get a sign up for a recorded Steath Seminar since there would be multiple times offered and I don’t know which time the prospect selected.

  • Thank you. Does can you make Thrive integrate with any other webinar apps like Webinar Jam or something cheaper than GoTo Webinar for us Solopreneurs? Also, is there a template to do an automated webinar? Ie: Put a countdown on the page and when the count gets to zero it kicks off a video. When the video is over it puts a thank you message on screen?

  • Please how can I get to use the landing page themes, I can’t find any landing page templates while trying to create a page with my thrive architect

    • Click on the icon in the right hand sidebar (the cloud with the arrow) this will bring up the landing page library.
