Cloning a Page/Post

Do you want to clone an already-designed page or post to alter or reuse it to create a new one?

This document will show you how to clone a page in a few clicks.

Note:

  • IMP: Cloning a page is only possible when using the Thrive Theme Builder on your website.
  • Before you move to clone a page, please ensure you have a page created and designed exactly as you want it to be when you start.

To begin cloning the page, open your WordPress admin, navigate to Pages >> All Pages, scroll to the page you want to clone, and click Clone.

After clicking Clone, you’ll see the page open in the editor, and the name of the page will look something like this – Clone of [name of original page].

You can update the page name and then open and edit it in the Thrive Architect editor.

Note:  When you clone a page, some metadata associated with the initial page will not be kept for the second one. You will have to go and manually add metadata to the cloned version.

We’ve just seen how to clone a page or post on your website. This will considerably reduce your design time when reusing pages and posts.

Next, if you want to reuse content from pages or posts created using Thrive Architect, you can read our document to learn how to import and export content.
