Did you know you can display the quiz you created using Thrive Quiz Builder in a number of ways?
In this article, we’ll see three ways to add a quiz to your website page.
- Displaying a Quiz Using Thrive Architect
- Displaying a Quiz Using Thrive Apprentice
- Displaying a Quiz Using WordPress Shortcodes
Note: Before you use any of these methods, please ensure you’ve created a quiz using Thrive Quiz Builder.
Displaying a Quiz Using Thrive Architect
To display a quiz using Thrive Architect, open the page to which you want to add it in the Thrive Architect editor.
To do so, open your WordPress admin area, navigate to Page -> All Pages, hover over the page you want to edit, and click Edit with Thrive Architect.
Once the editor opens the page, click the plus (+) icon in the right column.
From the elements that appear, drag and drop the Quiz element on the page.
When you drag and drop the Quiz element on the page, you’ll be asked to select the quiz you want to add to the current page.
In this dropdown, you can select the quiz you want to add to the page. Clicking on the quiz name will automatically add it to the page.
Like any other Thrive Architect element, this Quiz element added to the page can be customized and set up using the Main Options and other settings in the left column that appear when you click the quiz element in the editor.
Please make sure you click the Save Work button at the bottom left to save all the changes made to the page.
Displaying a Quiz Using Thrive Apprentice
If you are using Thrive Apprentice and Thrive Quiz Builder on the same website, you can embed a quiz in the Thrive Apprentice lesson.
To embed a quiz in the Thrive Apprentice lesson, open your WordPress admin area, navigate to Thrive Dashboard -> Thrive Apprentice, and click the Course you want to edit.
On the Course page, open the Content tab and hover the lesson to which you want to add the quiz. When you hover over the lesson, click Edit.
When you click Edit, you’ll see some options drop-down, where you click Add Content.
After clicking Add Content, you’ll be taken to the Lesson page in the Thrive Architect editor. In the editor, click the plus (+) icon in the right column.
After clicking the plus icon, select the Quiz element and drag and drop it on the lesson page.
After dropping the quiz element on the page, select the quiz you want to add from the dropdown that appears. Once done, click on the quiz to open the Main Options in the left column.
Under Main Options, click the Apprentice options and enable the slider below if you want to mark the lesson complete only when a student takes the quiz.
Like any other Thrive Architect element, this Quiz element added to the page can be customized and set up using the Main Options and other settings in the left column that appear when you click the quiz element in the editor.
Please make sure you click the Save Work button at the bottom left to save all the changes made to the page.
Displaying a Quiz Using WordPress Shortcodes
Quizzes built using Thrive Quiz Builder can also be displayed on regular WordPress pages, not just those built using Thrive Content Builder.
To display a quiz on a WordPress page, follow the steps to obtain the shortcode.
To begin, open your WordPress admin area, navigate to Thrive Dashboard -> Thrive Quiz Builder, and click the code icon on the quiz you want to add to the page.
After clicking the code icon, you’ll see a popup with the quiz shortcode. On the popup, click the Copy button to copy the shortcode and click Done to close the popup.
To paste the shortcode, let’s open a page in the WordPress editor. You can create a new page by navigating to Page -> Add New Page in the admin area or edit an existing page.
In the editor, click the plus (+) icon in the top left corner.
Under the list of blocks, click Shortcode.
When you click the Shortcode block, it gets added to the page. On the page, click the shortcode block and paste the quiz shortcode into it.
After making the required changes on the page, click Publish on the top right.
This will display the quiz in the front end.
We’ve just seen how to add a quiz on a page using Thrive Architect, Thrive Apprentice, and a regular WordPress editor.
Next, you can reuse quizzes on different websites by exporting and importing quizzes already created in Thrive Quiz Builder.
