In this article, you’ll learn how to save your work, preview your page on different devices, manage publish status and visibility, and use the revision manager to restore previous versions.
Saving Your Work
The Save Work button is located in the bottom-left corner of the editor and is always visible.
Save Options
Click the up arrow next to the Save Work button to access additional save options:
- Save Work — Saves all changes and keeps the editor open. Use this frequently as you build your page.
- Save and Preview — Saves your changes, closes the editor, and opens a preview of the page in a new browser tab.
- Save and Return to Post Editor — Saves your changes and takes you back to the WordPress admin dashboard.
- Exit without saving — Discards all unsaved changes and redirects you away from the editor. Use with caution—all changes since your last save will be lost.
Tip: Save frequently while editing. If an emoji or special character on the page causes a save error, try removing it and saving again.
Previewing Your Page
Desktop Preview
- Click the eye icon at the bottom-center of the editor to open a live preview of the page in a new browser tab.
- The preview shows exactly how the page will look to visitors.

Responsive Preview (Tablet and Mobile)
Thrive Architect lets you preview and edit your page as it will appear on different devices:
- Look for the three device icons at the bottom-center of the editor: Desktop, Tablet, and Mobile.
- Click the Tablet icon to see and edit the tablet view.
- Click the Mobile icon to see and edit the mobile view.
- Click the Desktop icon to return to the desktop view.
Important: Changes made in Tablet view apply to both tablet and mobile devices. Changes made in Mobile view apply only to mobile. Changes made in Desktop view apply only to desktop. This cascading behavior lets you create responsive designs efficiently.
Managing Status and Visibility
You can control the publish status and visibility of your page directly from inside the Thrive Architect editor.
Accessing Status and Visibility
- Look at the breadcrumb bar at the top of the editor.
- Click on Page (or Post) in the breadcrumbs.

- The Status & Visibility panel opens in the left sidebar.
Visibility Options
- Public — The page is visible to everyone once published.
- Private — The page is visible only to site administrators and editors. Selecting this option automatically publishes the page.
- Password Protected — A password field appears. Visitors must enter the correct password to view the page.
Publish Status
- If the page is unpublished (draft), a Publish button appears. Click it and confirm in the popup to publish.
- If the page is published, a Switch to Draft button appears. Click it and confirm to unpublish the page.
Using the Undo, Redo, and Revision Manager
Undo and Redo
The Undo and Redo buttons are located in the bottom-left area of the editor, below the left sidebar:
- Undo — Click the left arrow or press Ctrl + Z to undo the last action.
- Redo — Click the right arrow or press Ctrl + Y to redo an undone action.
Note: After you save your work, the undo history is cleared. You cannot undo changes from before the last save. Use the Revision Manager instead to restore earlier versions.
Revision Manager
The Revision Manager lets you view and restore previously saved versions of your page:
- Click the clock icon in the bottom-left area of the editor (next to the undo/redo buttons).
- A popup opens showing a list of all saved revisions with timestamps.

- Select the revision you want to restore.
- Click the Restore Revision button.
- The page content will revert to the selected revision.

Tip: The Revision Manager uses WordPress’s built-in revision system. Each time you save, a new revision is created automatically.
