How to Use This Dictionary
Before diving into the specific triggers and actions below, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the core concepts of automation:
- Setup & Debugging: Learn how to manage your dashboard and read logs in our Management Guide.
- Data Mapping: Learn how to handle custom fields and webhooks in our Advanced Data Guide.
- Real-World Examples: See these components in action within our Automation Recipe Books.
Start Triggers
A start trigger is the event that begins an automation.
WordPress Triggers
- User logs in/out: Fires when a user session starts or ends.
- Post is published/updated: Fires when content changes on your site.
- User creates account: Ideal for welcome sequences.
Thrive Suite Triggers
- Thrive Apprentice: Course completion, lesson progress, or product access.
- Thrive Leads/Architect: Form submissions (requires the Email field).
- Thrive Quiz Builder: Quiz completion or specific score results.
- Thrive Ultimatum: Triggered by evergreen campaign events.
Actions
Actions are the tasks that the automation performs after a trigger is fired.
Content & Access
- Grant/Remove Access to Product: Automatically manage Thrive Apprentice enrollment.
- Unlock Content: Release specific lessons or pages for a user.
Communication & Marketing
- Add/Tag User in Autoresponder: Push data to your mailing list (ActiveCampaign, Drip, etc.).
- Send Webhook: Push data to any 3rd-party service via POST, PUT, or GET.
- Slack: Send automated notifications to a specific channel.
Filters & Conditions
Filters allow you to add “logic” to your automations, ensuring they only run when specific criteria are met.
- User Role: Only run for “Subscribers” or “Editors”.
- Specific Form: Only trigger for a specific Lead Generation element ID.
- Quiz Result: Only run if a student scores higher than 80%.
- Time-based: Filter by registration date or last login.
Advanced Components
- Delays: Wait for a specific period (minutes, hours, days) before the next action.
- Dynamic Data: Use the “Database” icon to pull values from the trigger (like User Email) and use them inside an action (like a Webhook URL).
