Turning On or Off Comments on a Page or Post

If you want to display comments on your WordPress posts or pages or, on the contrary, if you want to have them removed from your posts or pages, you can do so in several easy steps.

Post comments

In order to make sure the post’s comments are shown, you first have to go to the “Settings” section of your WordPress admin dashboard and click on “Discussion”:

In the window that opens, make sure the option called “Allow people to submit comments on new posts” is selected:

Before exiting this window, don’t forget to press the “Save Changes” button:

Then, go to your posts dashboard, choose one and click on “Edit” :

Now, in the right sidebar, look for the “Discussion” section and click on it:

In the extended menu, make sure the “Allow comments” option is checked:

If, on the other hand, you want to turn off the comments, then you can just follow the same steps as described above, but instead of enabling them, you would have to make sure they are unchecked.

Page comments

For enabling or disabling page comments, open the page in the Thrive Architect editor and click on the WordPress logo in the right panel.

In the WordPress settings that open, click on Discussion.

Under Discussion, click the checkbox to Allow comments.

Once done, click the Save button.

This is how you can turn on/off the comments on your posts or pages. If you want to read more about our Thrive Themes products and features make sure to check out the rest of our Knowledge Base articles.
