This landing page from scratch video is not a highlight reel for Thrive Architect. We're not trying to show off all the coolest things our new visual editor can do. Rather, we want to show you how the improved workflow will help you create a better looking homepage faster than with Thrive Content Builder.
Here are some of the main things you'll discover in the video:
Improved Font Management (4:22 min)
In Thrive Content Builder, using a custom font was a bit complicated. You had to load the font to your website from within the Thrive Dashboard to be able to use it on a landing page. In Thrive Architect, fonts are easily and immediately accessible in a drop-down menu.
Faster Margins & Padding (8:48 min)
We've all been there... Adding 20px margin, enter, no it should be 25px, enter, or maybe 23px? It's fiddly work to get your layout and spacing to look just right.
Because this is such a common workflow, we've made it easier and faster in Thrive Architect. You can now simply click and drag to change margins and padding and you'll see immediately what's happening on the page. This makes getting the perfect layout walk in the park.
Using a "Ghost" Button (10:44 min) and Changing Every Detail (13:28 min)
One of the biggest improvements in Thrive Architect is customizability. The transparent button with a colored border (also known as a ghost button) is a perfect example for this. You can edit every detail: border color, background color, shadow, hover state, text font, etc. And changing the button text is much simpler as well: you can now edit button texts in-line, just like any other text on the page.
Layered Background Sections (11:08 min)
One of my personal favorites: with Thrive Architect you can layer different backgrounds on top of each other. This means that you can add an image and immediately apply an overlay without having to use a photo editing tool!
Placing Text on Top of an Image (17:44 min)
This is more of an advanced feature, but if you know what "position:absolute" and "z-index" mean you'll be over the top excited about this one. If not, this basically means that you'll be able to position any element on top of any other element. You can see a preview in the video with text on top of an image and we'll be sure to show you more layouts that will benefit from this feature in the future.
This is a feature that is meant for advanced users, so if it seems a bit complicated to you, don't worry. You can create 90% of all layouts you can think of without getting into the advanced features. But for those last 10%, we didn't want to leave you hanging, either.
Mobile Editing (20:44 min)
When in one of the first sneak peek videos of Thrive Architect, you discovered the mobile view, many asked about mobile editing options. As you can see in the video, you'll be able to customize the look and feel of your page for desktop, tablet and mobile separately.

There are a few recurring questions we get when we're talking about Thrive Architect and let me address them here heads on.
Will I have to buy this new plugin?
Thrive Architect is an update of Thrive Content Builder. This means that all current users (people who only have the Thrive Content Builder or Thrive Landing Pages plugin, members and agency members) will get this as a FREE update.
For everybody who's not currently a Thrive Content Builder customer, Thrive Architect will be released to the public on the 29th of August.
What will happen to the pages built with TCB? Will my previous design and layout stay in place?
Thrive Architect is backwards compatible. That means you can start using it and it won’t affect your previous content AND you can edit your TCB content with the new plugin. We'll soon release a video to show you how this works exactly.
What about the other plugins?
Most of our plugins use Thrive Content Builder to edit the elements (opt-in forms, quiz pages, course lessons, etc.). All of them will be updated to Thrive Architect. This means that if you're currently using eg. Thrive Leads, you'll have all these new features at your disposal too. Yes, that includes the mobile editing 😉

I’ve been working with many (and I mean many) visual editors over the last 10 years and this demo shows a major leap.
I’ve only recently made the move to Thrivethemes products, but I’ve got a feeling I won’t need to move away for a long time.

I love the new feautures, but let’s see if I understood right cause I am from spain. With the new architect plugin You can design for different devices like mobile , tablet etc showing diferents results for each device . So when you change de size letter for the smartphone only change the size letter for smartphone … This means that the internal code of the page written in html will ask if the page is being displayed on the desktop or on smartphone or tables and depends which one will show diferents internal codes. ¿ did I understand right? Hi Juan, I am also from Spain, if you need something else just let me know. It is your device and browser type and state the one setting display type and dimensions, the rest is CSS (style sheet specific). As far as I see all side menu are styling (css) and most inline actions are html.
What is not clear to this point is if I can configure several devices, dimensions and layout (vertical/horizontal view), something close to what it is available in chrome developer tools with device toolbar.
For instance this multi-device edition is essential these days, making it as an easy task will put TA in another level.
Well. Perhaps you should have called it Thrive Sonic, ‘cause that is one FAST hedgehog. I can’t wait to run it. I can see lots and lots of little improvements that stack up and make the current version look super clunky and annoying, even though it was already a major improvement in my workflow compared to Optimize Press.
If you’re consistent in your rate of progress, I’m confident you will be able to have Thrive 3.0 directly interface with our brains (Thrive Neuromancer, of course). I’m counting on you.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. 😀
But yeah, this is a bloody fast tool to use, which I realize especially now that I’ve recently used several competing products again.

Will this have global content blocks. Lets say a testimonial, that can be added in, then if it’s changed it updates on all the pages?
Hi Ivan, no not in the first release. But if you want dynamically updated testimonials, you can already do so by using the tagging system in Thrive Ovation 🙂

Seems like you guys did fantastic job with this. I was wondering, do you have anything like the library/template system like Elementor does? I use those to add ‘special elements’ to normal blog posts – such as product highlights. The way it works is that you create the piece of content in the visual editor, then save that section as a template, and then pick the shortcode from Elementor library and post into a blog post. Something like that would be very handy to have in Architect also.
Hi Seppo, this is something we have already in Thrive Content Builder (and yes it’s also included in Thrive Architect) it’s called “content templates”. The way this works is that you create and save the element as a template and then you can use it everywhere you want.

Can you do a style for fonts? I’d like to be able to reuse those elements without having to replicate elements and fill them in over and over.
It’s a real pain if I create content in another tool like a word processor and paste it in, because either every paragraph has to be moved over one at a time to a pre-formatted page element copy, or I have to manually fix the fonts/spacing/etc on each auto-generated text block.
Either that, or I’m missing something on how it works.

Copy/paste from Google Docs has been greatly improved in Thrive Architect, compared to Thrive Content Builder. Pasting from MS Word is more difficult to handle, but that also works better than it used to. Basically, there’s a lot less of what you described needed, if copy/paste is part of your workflow.

I’ve had a website since 2002, and Thrive is, without a doubt, the easiest tool I’ve ever used. With the exception of not allowing us to have a portfolio section on my site without gobs of work (boo!), and a few other oddball things, I’m really happy — and Architect looks to be even better!

For instance congratulations for the work, there are simple things like menu element search, element icons, accordion panels, inline text edition.. very helpful.
But there is one that call my attention “top breadcrumb”, very smart way to select context and focus elements to take events and actions, in TCB you have to almost fight to be understood, sometimes unselect, select, reselect before to make changes.
I am counting days … tomorrow 17 … sorry, your developers are going to kill me, tell them that what I see until now it is already amazing.
I am also very excited to see new themes and landing pages for TA.

Yes! This is a BIG one. Mobile and tablet view has been a major headache with TCB. Especially we now live in a “mobile first” world. The button text, countdown timer, images, background, the list go on and on…

Can you ctrl/shift-select multiple items?
No, that’s not possible in Thrive Architect. You can, however, apply styles on a block level to affect several elements at once and you can drag entire sections or boxes containing multiple elements.

Theoretically, yes. But you’d have to do it on a page-by-page basis.
Of course, all this awesome new tech will also be part of (and the foundation of) the next theme, which we’ll start developing soon.

Will it have the ability to do subscript or will i have to go to html mode and add the around the subscript text?
Hey Robert, I asked Hanne in the last VIDEO they posted. No subscript, no superscript. I was interested in using the Superscript for references. It’s no biggie for me since I write all my posts in Nisus, then copy-n-paste the Superscript into TCB– stays formatted as it should.
I’m not sure what you mean, Robert. There’s a lead generation element in TCB, which will also be available in Thrive Architect. With this, you can add opt-in forms to your content and connect them to your email marketing service via API.
It looks absolutely stunning and very easy to use, but then again Shane always makes things look easy!

the ability to select the Woocommerce widgets (in appearance/widgets) and include them in a page from what you call in TBC the Advanced Elements. For the moment I can only see the Custom Menu option.
The next step I suppose is the ability to have Woocommerce Elements which can be sized, styled and modified on the fly within the visual editor interface.

Shane, I have a question relating to content templates. Currently in TCB if you create a content template it’s static. If you subsequently want to change it you then have to manually edit it in every page where it’s been applied which can get tedious Would be fantastic if these could be dynamic so that any change made to a saved content template automatically applied on all pages where the template was used. Is this a feature in TA? Here’s hoping…

The content templates in Thrive Architect act the same way as those in TCB. But we have features on our roadmap that will allow for creating templates with shared styles as well as “global” templates where, if you make a change in one place, it changes everywhere.

Impressive as always! Looking forward to the release… Quick question… In the current version of TCB you have to be using a Thrive Theme in order to get full width page sections… It looks like with Thrive Architect Shane was creating full width “background” sections using what looked like one of the default WP themes… is it no longer required to use a Thrive theme specifically to get full width sections? And are the Thrive Architect “background” sections taking the place of the TCB “page sections”?

Of course, I prefer using Thrive WP Themes in all my projects but this opens up wider usage on the client side even more where perhaps clients’ are not able to transition themes as easily.

What would happen to that “absolute”-element when a visitor views the website in Landscape-mode on their tablet or phone? Would it still display in the right place?

That’s a good question. It really depends on the layout you create. An absolutely positioned element could indeed look good on tablet and mobile and look out of place on a screen size in between. However, if the position looks good on all 3 screen sizes in the editor, it’s very likely to look good on every screen size in between as well.
The more absolute positioning you use and the further you move objects from their anchor point, the more likely it is that things will break on some screen sizes. Because if that, I try to limit the use of position:absolute and keep adjustments to small measures.
Oh my goodness this looks amazing! I can’t wait for all of these features. But the mobile, tablet, desktop editing functionality is worth its weight in gold.

I really enjoyed the DRAG AND DROP part of TCB. We’ll get lots of new features but in exchange lost DAD. I can scrool and change everything in the panel menu.

I could be wrong but It is probably a png file which allows you to have transparent areas.
In order to get those areas you need a program to cut the background out.
Photoshop and many other programs can do that.

The second image used is a different image from the first one. The person in the image was isolated from the background and the dots pattern behind the person are also part of this image. The image has a transparent background as well.
Basically, this is something you have to use a photo editing tool for. The more typical use case (for me, at least) is that I get such an image from a stock image source or from a designer.

I was using Wix.com for some time… and what I find amazing is that you can really drop elements everywhere, like you where using powerpoint… I really love that. Why architect still uses modules and content sections. etc.

That’s a good question! There are two reasons why we don’t use this kind of drag and drop that you describe.
1) Technically, what you describe works by using position:absolute for every element on a page. This is not a great way to build websites, for many reasons. In terms of clean code and mobile responsiveness, it’s a lot worse than a “block” editor like Thrive Architect.
2) A blank canvas and total freedom aren’t as useful as they may seem. I can theoretically give you any painting you want by giving you a blank canvas, a brush and some colors. The problem is that most of us can’t make a beautiful painting, given these tools. And we can’t translate what we think of in our minds to the canvas. A position:absolute editor leads to the same problem.
A block editor does a lot of the work for you (especially in conjunction with templates). Elements and text are correctly aligned by default, spacing before and after elements are taken care of (and chosen by a professional designer) in all templates, the hierarchy of elements in the DOM is correct by default and so on and so forth. Another way to say it is: there’s a reason why professional web designers use CSS and HTML the way they do and only sparingly use free positioning. We’ve built Thrive Architect on the foundations of what the best web designers use. Using Thrive Architect, you can create a page like the best brands and businesses do. Using Wix (despite what their ads might tell you) you can’t.
Seriously I’m five minutes in to the video and the excitement level has now increased 10x – I don’t want to build anymore sites until this comes out but its hard explaining that to clients lol lol – can’t wait ….counting sleeps!

But what I’m especially excited about is seeing how that features works within Thrive Leads. It used to annoy me that I’d spend forever getting my pop ups to look perfect, only to have them a mess on mobile. I’m assuming this means we can make changes to Thrive Leads forms that will be specific to mobile? Perfect!

It was never a bother to me, but I noticed there is not now an option for 5 columns. It this gone? I understand that it is much more difficult to have 5 columns. Just curious.
Thank you for your work. I found Thrive when I was looking for a countdown timer setup, and am happy to say I got a lot more! Am still a big fan of Divi, but as I’e said before it’s a bit slow, even though they’ve made some CSS type tweaks to make it faster, it didn’t make my site faster. I currently use Thrive for landing pages and all the cool convertion options, options basically missing in Divi. Now it looks like I can build/create my pages from scratch as with Divi. I left X and Genesis a long time ago because they forced me to fit into a theme. I’m not a designer, but I do OK with layout, so am very happy with Thrive. Best to you.

You can still create 5 columns. Or 7 columns or 15 columns or whatever you want. The layouts you see when adding a column element to the page are just some basics that we make available at one click. But you can still drop elements next to each other (or in between each other) to create additional columns and you can resize the widths with drag and drop.
I am excited about the new system. I have been impressed with Thrivethemes and the instruction given by Hanne. I remember the first time I viewed a lesson on how to setup a Homepage with Hanne. I thought I need to get involved with Thrivethemes, and I became a member after seeing how a real website looked after Hanne gave the instruction. Thanks for sharing this new information.

But if you really want to “kick ass” with your new Architect, I’d say follow the rise of elegant themes. One thing they did was make a bunch of layouts, some with dummy pictures and some really beautiful ones. Hard to resist. They had a countdown as you may know, a contest for something or other, etc.

Really excited about the launch. Wondering if superscript and subscript options will be added to the text editor. This seems like a common oversight of so many visual editors and yet so many of us have trademarks that we need to indicate through superscripting. Will Thrive architect address this?

The new editor supports superscript and subscript if you paste it from a source with super/subscript. We don’t have a button to apply the effect from within our editor, though.

Unbelievable how in Thrive Architect you can tweak the layout on different devices! It was always in some way that you should do some concessions on one or more devices. Superb work! One question: In the video the amount of featured posts is changed. Is it also possible to have one or more content blocks you don’t want to show on mobile for instance? Let’s say it is a very rich-content page and you want to drop parts for mobiles. Is this possible?

1) You can hide elements from mobile, if they are separate elements. For the posts gallery, what you could do is add one that displays 10 posts and show it on desktop and then add a second one that shows only 3 posts and hide it on desktop. For mobile phones, you can then hide the large gallery and show the small one, to get the desired effect.
2) Thrive Architect is launching on August 29th, 2017.
I like what I see. I belive this is the only page builder where you can actually control absolute position, shadows and mobile editing.
It looks very good.
Is it extendable? Can you as a developer hook into the tool?
Is there access to the output html? I need to be able to insert the data via shortcodes so I can use it with toolset from WP-Types.com, and all page builders so far are limited in this sense.

In Thrive Architect, you can still (as you could in TCB) call up an HTML source code view of the entire page and make any changes you with, in there.
As for extendibility: we don’t have developer options yet. We may add those at some point, but there’s no plan for it yet.

Congratulations for coming this far, this new editor is really a game changer, editing devise specific view really nailed it. This all looks GREAT.
I have few questions and suggestions.
1. One thing I have always been curious about is why you never implemented a ways to resize and position all the elements using a control of mouse instead of changing all those options, for example would have been awesome to change the size of that who is that guy element and position it using my mouse cursor. For example I resizing my browser window and position it on desktop the way I want it. That feature alone will make the whole experience 10x faster and will make it TRUELY drag and drop.
2. I am still wondering why thrive themes does not have a cart, or an integration with woo-commerce at-least? I have seen many people asking for it and seen you asked what they need. I will try to explain what would make it a complete solution and will seriously blow ClickFunnels out of water.
– If thrive themes have a cart that will obviously solve the above issue.
– But it can be easily achieved if thrive theme can find a way to customize woo-commerce checkout process. That will help one not only make funnels to gather leads but will also help one to build funnel for selling physical products. Which is what clickfunnel is all about.
Guys at woocurve.com are trying to something that can plugin with thrive themes and create the whole funnel for selling physical product by the use of thrive themes pages. They have products like 1-click upsell for woo-commerce and Handsome Checkouts (this plugin takes over woo-commerce’s checkout page).
In the end all I want to say is, if thrive themes can come-up with a way to customize woo-commerce’s checkout page it will be a game changer and clickfunnels will be blown out of water. Because there is no need to build anything else, woo-commerce is going to handle all the backend.
I have tried to explain this process to my best, but I will be willing jump on a call and explain it more if more details are needed.
I am trying so hard to explain it only because I genuinely feel “Thrive Themes is so damn close to becoming the best solution for creating online sales funnels”.

1.For the positioning you can see Shane’s answer on Samuel’s question. The reason we do not do this is because it uses position absolute for everything and it’s not necessarily a good option.
2. Because we want to do things right and we don’t feel a simple cart solution or an integration with WooCommerce is what’s best. But this is something we’re thinking a lot about.
Time will pass and more and more people think about the reason, why they were “hunting” leads. The time will come they want to make money, they want to sell digital products like online courses etc.
Since this will happen, they begin searching solutions for doing there ecommerce….. because thats the reason why they want collect leads, build landing pages a.s.o.
woocommerce is maybe not the best but at least the most comprehensive and cheapest way of selling everything!!!
a lot of theme provider have simple integrations! woo is a plugin.
If I see the amount of comments regarding costs for TA, I don´t think it would be a good idea of thinking about the integration of expensive and compley membership solutions.
please think a moment about a thrive member who want to make money and the plugin you offer…..great… of course until you want to give a freebie away instead include a buy button 🙁
I think, the thrive developers are so excellent, that it should not be a big deal.

I said it before and will say it again, the day Thrive themes figure out the way to sell physical products, through their funnels, Thrive Themes suit will become the best and most desired solution available for making sales funnels.
I agree with you on everything except one thing: that’s it’s not a big deal. There are too many sloppy and half-hearted ecommerce and membership solutions already. When we do this, we’ll do it right. And it will be a very big deal indeed. 😉
Flat out blown away! I can’t wait to build my first page with Thrive Architect.
One thing I’d still like to see (if it’s even possible, may not be) is the ability to edit pre-existing Word Press pages and posts and make them drafts. Our site has a lot of old WP editor created pages that I’d really like to update using Thrive Architect but editing the pages would take many hours to make them superior pages and I can’t just go in and make some updates one day, then save the work as it’s then publishing to an existing page which will now look like a construction zone of old content and new. I really wish I had the ability to kind of treat an existing page as if it were on a staging server and would only go live (publish) with the new updates once it’s all done in the staging/draft mode.
Does that make sense? Is that even possible?
Anyway, I’m super impressed with what I’ve seen so far. Buying TCB was my best decision yet and now I look even smarter as I get a free update to Thrive Architect!

I’ve got a huge question that I’ve actually posted in the forum before.
It was about the ‘global edit’, where we will have a global variable or something like that.
For example, The header of a landing page to be repeated, a phone number to be updated across all pages and more.
Global template is the term I used. And Shane, you did say you guys are working on it. And that was brought up since last year or the year before.
I hope Thrive Architect finally able to fulfills this.

I very much like what I have seen in the video.
I have just one question regarding “Placing Text on Top”.
I currently use an icon with a tooltip “on hover”. I have placed a text on top of the icon, however when the mouse gets onto the text the tooltip disappears.
With this new feature will the text become a part of the icon thus allowing to see the tooltip regardless of the mouse-position or will the tooltip disappear as until now?
I can hardly wait to start working with TA.

Sorry, I can’t picture the problem you’re describing. There is a tooltip feature in Thrive Architect, which you can apply to almost any element. The tooltip appears on hover and disappears on mouse-out.
Fantastic job on over delivering value to your customer base. Your team has really paid attention to the community and created an incredible update that is above and beyond what any of us expected.

As many others here, I am very impressed. That looks like a totally new level of using a visual composer. It would be great if there were a systematic help section so that even a newbie can learn how to use the Architect in a step-by-step-way. There is a lot of help content for the TCB (as well as the themes) but it seems somehow randomised and not always easy to detect. I am looking forward to learning more about the Architect.

Yes you click on a button and it reveals or hide a content container / .section / row and/or any element. Each element, section and row is show and you just have to click wich one you want to be reveal/hide after the button click. It’s really a GREAT feature that give a lot of possibilities. If we had this in Thrives too it would allow us to make a LOT more things! I personally use it for showing/hiding different form for each type of payment: card, paypal, bank transfer
Or having the checkout form direct on the sale page but revealing it only after a click on a button!
I know the content toogles and the lightbox that open a click because I’m using thrives for my website content and really love it, just missing some feature that would allow me to use ONLY thrives theme. Because I’m actually only using the builder and the one click upsell functionallity from clickfunnel and paying 100 dollar each month from them. If Thrives had a bigger plan with those functionallity I would only use thrives, that have a much better builder and a lot more things like the killer quizz, thrives leads etc.
Yes, we’ve got a plan for such a feature for Thrive Architect as well. However, it’s not going to happen this year, as we have a series of higher priority releases and additions (including A/B testing for landing pages) that we will work on first.
As for funnel and cart features: that’s also a future project, but not a near-term future one.
I almost can’t believe how intuitive Architect it! Wow. I’m so blown: Hanne was right, it’s going to require a rather different workflow but that’s going to be AMAZING, because everything is better and so much more intuitive. It took me a long time to really get paddings and margins for instance: if I had this, it’d have been so much easier. Even simple things like how intuitive the text formatting and colour picker options are. This blows everything out of the water, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

I noticed that in the demo Shane made a custom menu. On my site I use TCB for my new pages and posts, but I have some old pages and posts, and so I use wordpress widgets for all my menus (Pressive theme).
Your custom menus are a lot better. Is there a way I can create ones that I can use across my whole site? Top menu and side bar?

You can add custom classes to any element (including sections) and add custom CSS to the page, yes.

Looks like a big improvement on TCB which as a self-employed web designer I didn’t get along with because of its limitations.
A few of questions:
1) Is it possible to change the size of the mobile/tablet/desktop breakpoints or even add extra ones?
2) Will Architect add unnecessary HTML (div’s etc) to a page like most of these page builders do? This is one of the main issues that is stopping me from using a page builder for client sites. I want clean code! If you can achieve this I think you will win a lot more advanced users like myself over who are able to build sites from scratch in HTML/CSS.
3) Will it be possible to remove the page building functionality on sites we build for clients (so they can only make basic text changes etc)?

1) No, this won’t be possible in the release version. It’s possible that we’ll add this at a later date, but adding more break points means adding more code and more steps to the workflow, so for most users, it’s not a very useful thing to have.
2) A page builder will never produce code that’s as clean as what you’d code by hand. Yes, there are more divs on the page than you’d create if you wrote the CSS/HTML yourself. As we saw here, Architect outputs less code than almost all competing products, but it’s still not totally lean code.
3) Not yet, no. But this is something we’ll almost certainly add in the future, as we’ve gotten many requests for it.

We have not done anything to ensure or test for WPML support, so for the moment, I’d say the answer is “no”. I’ll have to get an update from the developers about whether this will be something we add in the future or not.

We don’t have that yet, but there are many things about the editor that we will continue to refine over time.
Shane: Architect would benefit from the user being able to view and make adjustments in both mobile vertical and landscape views. I recently spent a month with Support working on correcting letter spacing distortion and line height distortion issues (causing scrunched-together text headlines and subheadlines) which only occur when the landing page template-based sites were viewed with either an iOS or Android device in LANDSCAPE view. Support finally acknowledged that this was a bug in TCB; it then took multiple iterations before they were able to provide the correct custom CSS necessary to fix each page. I have no idea if this issue has been rectified in Architect, but even if it has, it would be reassuring to be able to view and tweak both mobile vertical and landscape views.

TCB didn’t have any break points for responsive content. That means that it had to rely on content scaling well on all screen sizes without any style changes. What you describe is a case where this scaling across all sizes apparently didn’t work.
In Thrive Architect, we have 3 device views and we call them desktop, tablet and mobile, but the reality of screen sizes is not that simple. In reality, there’s an almost seamless range of screen sizes ranging from huge 8K monitors all the way down to small smartphones in portrait view. If you want to see what your content looks like on a typical smartphone in landscape view, the “tablet” size in Thrive Architect is exactly that. And the reason we don’t have a “tablet, landscape” view is because there’s no real difference between an average tablet in landscape and an average laptop screen.
The way the mobile editing works is that we have the 3 sizes you can optimize for and if your content looks good on each of the 3 sizes, it’s very unlikely that there exists a device or orientation in which your content won’t look good.
We could maybe add a preview mode with more sizes, to give peace of mind about this, but I believe that adding more break points and making them all editable separately adds unnecessary code and extra steps in the workflow, without adding any practical benefit.
We are open to what our users have to say about this, though.

We discussed this in the team. Using a mobile first approach would mean that you have to always build the smallest (mobile phone) version of your pages and content as the main version and then make adjustments to the larger screen sizes. This is a workflow that’s far from ideal. And with the emergence of AMP and PWA, it’s also no longer the best way to handle mobile devices. We decided to skip past the “mobile first” era and focus on what’s coming next, instead.

I liked the most where we can edit for specific screen views like mobile view and desktop. In older technologies, the headlines are tooo big in mobile view and it looks ugly. Now we can make pretty headline size for mobiles.

TCB was the best out there. This blows TCB away. It looks amazing! Incredible that you can do all this in javascript.
Question: When including a picture does it still include the largest file for images like TCB, or does it use the smaller wordpress sizes (thumb/medium/etc) if selected or reduced in size?
This is not final yet. We’re still testing different options for how to handle images.

Amazing!!! I am already deep in love with the Thrive Architect. I noticed that you have always the same working menue for each element you want to tweak, that will make the learning of what you can do so much easier. I love the using different layers on the Background, as this can make storytelling with pictures possible. One of the best ideas, was the possiblity to change the look of the tablet an mobil view. Working with Bookcovers you need to have different size of them on the different views. Really you have done amazing work. Can´t wait to get my hands dirty 🙂

Responsive preview feature is amazing but I also really liked the way we can now adjust margins and padding and other styling. This is so intuitive.
And there’s gotta be more. Can’t wait for it.
Just one question if possible to answer. TCB doesn’t work with tablet. Does the Architect support tablet (touch) editing i.e. will I be able to use it on my iPad?

Happy you like what you see. To answer your question, not really… Thrive Architect is not made to be used on tablet.
If I start using this instead of TCB will I lose all my content made with TCB? Or will I need both plugins active at the same time?

This is an update so you will not have both plugins on your site and all of the content created with TCB will still be accessible and editable. You will not loose anything!

I just subscribed to the Thrive Themes Membership. I have been slow to get started learning it but now I am wondering if I should wait until the full unveiling of TA. I am really anxious to get started but i don’t want to have to learn it all over again.

This video was truly inspiring! The ability to make views for different formats is amazing. I do hope the new Architect easily replaces the TCB and other plug-ins in current use. That professional landing page was so easily built from scratch and I feel I will be able to do things like that too. Why would anyone use anything else?

This is awesome! I’m having some issues with displaying excerpts and full content on my blog page… It won’t display anthing aside from image, tags, and other details. I changed themes and it’s the same. I’m using a staging site though. Let me know if you can help. 🙂

See, when I make a change at the mobile view, changes at desktop and tablet too.
For example I’ve tried changing the headline size at mobile but then it changed the size everywhere. I tried clearing chache, both at wordpress and chrome, but didn’t work.
Am I doing something wrong?

It depends on which version you’re using. So, usually in CSS, if you make an inline change, that won’t be mobile responsive. That means that if you select some text and make changes to that selected text, it will change on all screen sizes.
To make responsive changes, you have to make the changes on the “block level”. That means you select the text block as a whole (without selecting any of the words inside it) and apply the changes there.
However, our developers have managed to make even the inline changes responsive (by what I can only assume is some kind of black magic). So, if you use the latest version of the plugin, it should work either way.

If the font change isn’t applying, try changing to a different font and back again. There is a bug there that we’re aware of and will fix. If switching back and forth still doesn’t work, please let us know in the support forum.

I see a person can make a content block template; is there a way to make a page or post template that is not a landing page? That way I can have the elements I want on a page without having to add block templates over and over again. Thank you.

You can save an entire page’s worth of content as a template, yes. To do this, you must add everything you want to save into a containing element, such as a background section or content box. You can, for example, use a content box with 0 margin, 0 padding and no background, so it doesn’t influence what the content inside looks like, at all.
I’m LOVING the changes that you all have made. Being able to see how my content is viewed on various devices (phone or tablet) and making changes specific to that device is awesome. Thank you! 🙂

Wonderful! You have answered so many questions for me with this demo. I am the least confident of people doing something like this, but I know when I buy “Architect” after I work with it for a month I’ll be in love with it. I can safely tell the world, this is NOT like Coffee Cup or Wix. It can be used on WordPress and allow us to be creative without frustration. True enough some people can make a mess of anything if they don’t have an artist’s eye. Find a model from a major magazine and do your best to duplicate it. I’m looking forward, (though I have a very limited budget) to purchasing Thrive Architect very soon. Thanks so much for the demo. It’s grand to have a teacher like you. SN
