Showing or hiding an "About the Author" element can very easily be done, both from a template level or a post/page level. The way to do this on a template is by adding or removing an "About the Author" element on a template.

You can also use the "Visibility Settings" from a page/post level in order to hide or show this element. Both of these methods will be described in this article.

Hide/Show the "About the Author" Element From a Template Level

First of all, in order to add the element, you need to access the Thrive Theme Builder editor. To do that, in your Thrive Theme Builder Dashboard, go to the "Templates" section:

The page with your Thrive Theme Builder templates will open. Find the template that you want to show or hide the "About the Author" element for, hover over it and click on "Edit":

The template will then open in the Thrive Theme Builder editor. Here is how you can hide or show the "About the Author" element:

Add or Remove an "About the Author" Element

Note: We recommend that you first make sure that you have completed the author information before using the element.

This is because, if you do not insert the author information or image in advance, the element will have a "No information about the author" message, as well as a standard image.

If you are not sure how you can complete this information, you can follow the steps described in this article.

If you want to show or hide this element, in the editor, click on the plus sign from the right sidebar:

Then, from the list of elements that opens, look for the "About the Author" one, and drag and drop it where you best see fit on the template:

After you do this, you will be asked to choose a template for this element, and you can customize it as you wish, by using the left sidebar options. Everything is described more in detail in this article, about how to use the "About the Author" element.

Note: When placing the element inside a section (e.g.: "Content Section"), you will first have to enter the "Edit Mode" in order to do any further customizations to the "About the Author" element.

You can do that by clicking on the orange "Edit" button that appears on the left sidebar once you add the element into a section:

This is how you can show the "About the Author" element on your template. In order to hide it, you can simply remove the element. If you want to do that, click on the element, in the editor.

A green border will appear, and in the right corner, you will see a trash can icon. Click on that in order to remove the element:

These were the ways in which you can add or remove the "About the Author" element from a template. You are also able to do this but from a page/post level.

Hide/Show the "About the Author" Element From a Page/Post Level

In order to do this, go to your WordPress admin dashboard. Then, on the left sidebar, go to the "Posts" or "Pages" section, depending on what you want to edit, and hover over it.

As an example, I will explain how you can manage the "Featured Image" of a post, but keep in mind that the process is exactly the same in the case of showing or hiding it on a page. When you hover over the "Posts" section, a small sub-menu will open.

Click on "All Posts":

This opens the list with all of your posts. Hover over the post that you want to show or hide the "About the Author" element, to see its options. Click on the "Edit" option:

You will be taken to the WordPress settings page. In the right sidebar, you will see some options. One of the sections from the right sidebar is called "Theme Builder Visibility", and this is where you can set the visibility for the "About the Author" element.

Theme Builder Visibility Section

Click on the down arrow next to this section, in order to expand the options:

This is where you can set the visibility options from, on a page or post level:

One of the options from the list below the "Element Visibility" section is the "About the Author" one.

If this is checked, then the "About the Author" element will be visible in the respective post. If you want to hide it, simply uncheck the box in front of this option:

Once you finish with the modifications, don't forget to save the changes from the top right side of the page:

Note: The "Theme Builder Visibility" options will be visible here (in the WordPress settings) only if you have not opened or edited the post/page using Thrive Architect. If the post/page has been previously opened in the Thrive Architect editor, the visibility options will migrate there.

You can read this article if you want to see how you can use the visibility settings from there, as well.

These were the ways in which you can show or hide the "About the Author" element when using Thrive Theme Builder.
