This article will explain how these two products, Thrive Architect and Thrive Theme Builder, complement each other, as well as the ways in which you can use them.

Before getting started, you can also feel free to check out this blog post, which explains the difference between a Theme Builder and a Page Builder.

Thrive Architect

Thrive Architect is a WordPress page builder, with the help of which you can create or edit various types of content for your website.

This is a visual editor, that allows you to create and edit posts and pages. You can find more information about Thrive Architect and its features in this knowledge base section.

Thrive Theme Builder

While Thrive Architect is a page builder, with Thrive Theme Builder, you can create your own themes, using customized templates, that you can apply to your posts and pages.

Moreover, this article goes through the ways in which you can apply templates to pages/posts, as well as how to use the related template options.

This, too, is a visual editor, but this allows you to customize the design of the theme's templates and not the actual content. If you want to edit the content of your site, you will have to use the Thrive Architect editor.

You can purchase a Thrive Theme Builder theme (for example, "Shapeshift", "Ommi" or "Kwik" ), which will come with some templates that you can easily customize, as well as the Thrive Theme Builder editor.

Find out more about what Thrive Theme Builder themes come with, here. Also, if you need help with the installation process, please read this article.

When you purchase Thrive Theme Builder, as well as a theme, you will have access to Thrive Architect, even if you do not own this product.

However, if that's the case, you will get access to another version, called Thrive Architect Light. We have explained the difference between this, and Thrive Architect, in this article.

How do Thrive Architect and Thrive Theme Builder Complement Each Other?

You can use Thrive Architect to build your pages and posts, and then you can access Thrive Theme Builder and start creating your own templates. You can then apply these templates to your content, thus creating an entire theme.

The two editors can be easily accessed, one from another. This is because, when you are editing a template using the Thrive Theme Builder editor, you will find an option in the right sidebar, that allows you to switch to Thrive Architect if you want to edit the content of the page/post.

Similar to this, when you edit the content of a page/post using Thrive Architect, you will also have the "Switch to Thrive Theme Builder" option in the right sidebar (if Thrive Theme Builder has been installed and activated).

We have created these two articles, that go into more details about why you're not able to edit the content of a post/page in Thrive Theme Builder, as well as the reasons why you can't edit a template in Thrive Architect:

Also, feel free to check out this article, that explains the difference between applying a template to a page/post, and previewing a page/post on the template.
