How to Create a Notification in the Notification Manager
In our latest update release we added an important new feature in the Thrive Dashboard, called the Notification Manager, from which all Thrive notifications can be managed.
With this new feature you can setup different actions to be performed when certain events occur on your website.
In order to start using the Notification Manager, you need to go to your Thrive Dashboard, where you will find the card seen in the image above and then click on the "Manage Notifications" button:
Doing so, you will be forwarded to the Notification Manager Dashboard, where you can start creating your first notification by clicking either one of the "Add New" buttons:
Set your trigger
At this point, if you click any of the buttons illustrated in the screenshot above, a lightbox will appear where you can set up the notification by firstly, selecting your trigger:
A/B Test Ends
If you select the "A/B Test Ends" trigger, you will be asked "Which sort of A/B test should trigger the notification", and you will be able to select from your existing Thrive Leads, Thrive Headline Optimizer or Thrive Quiz Builder tests:
Email Sign up
On the other hand, if you select the "Email Sign up" trigger, you will be asked "Which source of email sign up should trigger the notification", and you will be able to select from your existing Lead Groups, Shortcodes or ThriveBoxes:
This is all you have to do in order to enable this notification type, after which you can move on to the next step.
By selecting the "Quiz Completion" trigger you will be notified every time a visitor completes a quiz that you have displayed on your website.
When this trigger is selected, it displays the list of quizzes on your website. At least one quiz should be selected in order to go to the next step:
Set the action to be performed
Regardless of the trigger you choose, the next step will be to select the action through which the notification can be received:
This way you can either send an email notification, call a custom script or use a WordPress notification.
Send Email Notification
Selecting the first option, you will be able to send out an email notification, through which you will be able to send information about a certain trigger that was accomplished.
- In order to send an Email Notification, you need to have an email delivery service integration set up on your website. If you haven't done this yet, check out the available integrations in this article.
Once the option was selected, the window will extend and you will need to fill in a couple of fields that are mandatory for sending out an email, such as the recipient's email address (1), the subject (2) and the actual message of the email (3).
Also, right below the required fields for sending the email there is a section that displays your available shortcodes, with a hyperlink that links to the A/B test screen:
Once you complete the required fields with the information you see fit, you can go on and save the notification by clicking the green button.
Call a Custom Script
By choosing this option, you will be presented with a field where you need to paste the URL of the Custom Script you want the notification to be sent to. In order to find out more about how calling a custom script actually works, have a look over the following article.
If you select the "WordPress Notification" option, you will be informed directly on your WordPress Admin Dashboard section through a notification about the fact that a certain trigger was accomplished.
In order to set up this type of notification, simply fill in the field that will show up with the message you want to be notified with:
Once you have typed in the notification message, your work is done and you can go on and save the notification.
Add New Action
Regardless of what action you have chosen for a certain trigger, you can always add one more action to that notification. However, in order to change to trigger you need to create a new notification.
For example, if you have chosen a WordPress Notification for an Email Sign up, you can also add an Email Notification or call a Custom Script by clicking the afferent icon:
And by clicking the icon, you can select one of the remaining options through which you want to be notified of the Email Sign up accomplishment:
This way, for a trigger, you are able to add all of the three types of notifications available in the Notification Manager.
