How to Set a Favicon for Your Website

You can set a favicon for your website through the "Customize" option. This can be accessed either through the WordPress Dashboard, or from any of your WordPress website's pages/posts. Below, on this page, you can find out more about each approach.

Through the WordPress Dashboard

Using this approach, you will need to go on your WordPress website's dashboard and access the "Customize" option from the "Appearance" menu item:

From any Post/Page

​Access any post or page on your WordPress website. On the top ribbon you will notice the "Customize" item, click it to get to the next step:

Setting the Favicon

Accessing the "Customize" item, a sidebar will show up on the left side of your screen. Regardless of what theme you are using, the favicon can be set by accessing the "Site Identity" item:

Here, you need to look for the "Site Icon" section and then select an image from your computer and upload it to your website by clicking the button highlighted in the image below:

After you have chosen the image, you will be able to see a preview of it, before it's published on your website:

If you decide that the chosen image is the one that you want to be shown on your website, you can go on, and click on the "Save & Publish" button as seen in the image above.
