Changing the Notification for the ‘Mark Lesson as Complete’ Behavior

In this article we will have a look at how to change the notification that appears on screen when someone tries to mark a lesson as complete, without getting the required result.

This is a feature that you can use on your Thrive Apprentice courses, when you want to decide which students can advance to the next lesson, based on their quiz results.

This article from our knowledge base explains in detail how to use this feature:

If the “mark as complete” behavior has been set to require a certain result, then the lesson button is grayed out:

Whenever this button is clicked, this notification will show up:

This lets the students know that they cannot advance with the course, unless they meet certain requirements (so they basically need to get another result when retaking the quiz).

This text can be changed, and you can customize it to your liking. In order to do that, access Thrive Apprentice from the Thrive Dashboard:

Here, in the left navigation bar, click on “Settings”:

Then, click on the “Labels & translations” tab:

And lastly, access the “Course navigation” tab:

Here, in the “Navigation warnings” section, is where you will find the default message that’s displayed to the users:

Simply click on it and start typing in your own text, if you want:

If you want to also customize the style of the notification (the color, its position, template, etc.), you can find out how to do that in this article from our knowledge base:

And this is it! These are the steps for customizing the text and design of the notification that shows up on the screen when the students cannot advance to the next lesson of the course.

Don’t forget that our knowledge base is one click away if you want to learn more about Thrive Suite.
