Protecting the Course Overview page in Thrive Apprentice helps you control access and keep your course content secure, allowing you to provide exclusive information only to the right audience.
A Course Overview page is a page that gives information about a course, such as what a user will learn, the lessons inside, and any important details. It usually appears when someone clicks on a course in the course grid.
You can protect this Course Overview page, meaning only certain people can view it – like students who have signed up, or people who have paid for the course.
When someone is browsing your courses, they will see a grid of all the available courses. If they want to learn more about a course, they can click the “Learn more” button. This takes them to the Course Overview page.
On the Course Overview page, if the person clicks on “Start course,” they will be directed to either the sales page (where they can buy the course), or to another URL you’ve chosen.
If you want, you can make it so people skip the Course Overview page entirely, and go straight to the sales page or another link instead. This can save time for users who already know which course they want.

Setting Up Access Restriction Rules for Products
A Thrive Apprentice Product acts as a container of courses and other types of content you want to add restriction rules to.
The overview pages you want to hide may definitely be those that are restricted. Therefore, the first step before enabling the protection is to add access and restriction rules to the products.

To set the Access Restriction Rules, first open your WordPress admin area, navigate to Thrive Dashboard >> Thrive Apprentice, and click on Products in the left panel.
On the Products page, click to open the product you want to apply the access restriction rules to.
On the individual product page, click on Access restriction rules in the left column.
Under Access restriction rules, you can set the access restrictions you want by following the document here.
Enabling Course Overview Page Protection
After you’ve set access restriction rules in Thrive Apprentice you’ll need to open courses to protect the course overview pages.
To do so, first open your WordPress admin area, navigate to Thrive Dashboard >> Thrive Apprentice, and click on Courses in the left panel.
On the Courses page, click on the course you want to edit.
On the individual course page, click to open the Access restrictions tab.
Under the Access Restrictions tab, click the toggle button to enable the Course overview page protection on your website.
Enabling this option will protect the course overview page of this course.
To protect the overview pages of the other courses, you’ll have to follow the above steps for each individual course.
