If you want to see how to take the information that users input when filling in custom fields from one of your forms placed on your site and send it to an autoresponder, make sure you read this article.
If you have added a form to one of your pages or posts, and you are using custom fields, you can create an automation that will send the information gathered from those custom fields directly to your autoresponders.
Let’s create an automation for that, that uses a “Form submit” start trigger and an “Add user in autoresponder” action:
The form added to my page looks like this:
Let’s say we want to send the information filled in the “Message” field of the form to ActiveCampaign (this is an example – you are able to use any autoresponder).
I will have to ensure that, first of all, when configuring the “Form submit” start trigger, I select my exact form here:
This form identifier can be found under the “Advanced” section of the form options, when editing it in Thrive Architect:
Then, in the “Add user in autoresponder” action, we will need to use the “Field Mapping” feature:
We will have to create key-value pairs here, for the fields you want to be sent to the autoresponder. The keys represent the fields where the information will be sent in the autoresponder, while the values represent the Thrive Architect form fields that you want to be sent.
In this case, as the “Message” field is a “Text” type of field, I will choose “Text” as the key:
Next, as a value, I expand the “Form Data” section:
And choose the “Message” field:
And, of course, you map out as many fields as you’d like here.
As you save and publish the automation, each time someone fills in this form, the custom field information (the message, in the above example) will also be mapped out and sent to ActiveCampaign:
This is how you can use the “Field Mapping” option to send out custom fields to your autoresponder.
We have also written an article showing how you can take the information coming from two different form fields and send it as a singular field in the autoresponder, and you can find it here.
