My Template Was Not Saved – Troubleshooting

It sometimes can happen that, while working in Thrive Architect, you get the “Template was not saved” error message.

This usually happens when saving a page/template/symbol, and it is usually caused by a security setting that comes from your website’s hosting provider.

Either that, or there has been a conflict with a third party security plugin.

Solution #1

The first thing you can try is to reach out to your hosting provider and request for them to add the PHP PUT/GET/DELETE/POST requests to the list of allowed requests on the server.

It might just so happen that these requests are not allowed by the server, hence the reason why they are not going through.

Solution #2

Some files are being restricted by the website hosting provider. If that is the case, you can ask the hosting provider to rule out any restrictions on wp-json.

In case you are using the ModSecurity plugin, that might also have to be excluded from the restriction list. This is why it is best that you check with your hosting provider and ask them to remove any related restrictions.

Solution #3

In case you are using a security plugin, try deactivating it and see if the issue persists.

If it doesn’t, and the error disappears, you can check the settings for that security plugin.

For example, if you’re using WordFence, you will have to access its security settings and turn it to ‘learning mode’. Please check out this article if you need more information about why you should set the WordFence firewall to ‘learning mode’.

If none of these methods worked out, please open a support conversation to get in touch with our team, and they will look into your problem and come up with the best solution.
