Identifying the Editor – Thrive Architect or Thrive Theme Builder

If you want to know whether you are editing content in Thrive Architect or editing a template in Thrive Theme Builder, then this article might be useful to you.

You can use Thrive Architect to edit the content on your post or page, whilst Thrive Theme Builder will be used for editing a post or a page template.

You can read these articles which explain in more detail the difference between Thrive Architect and Thrive Theme Builder:

This article will explain how you can tell if you are editing content in Thrive Architect or a template in Thrive Theme Builder.

I will exemplify this with the help of a “Button” element for both situations.

The easiest way to identify whether you are editing a Theme Builder “Button” element or a Thrive Architect “Button” element is by checking the color of the left sidebar:

  • If you are clicking on a “Button” element and the color of the left sidebar is blue, then you are editing a template with Thrive Theme Builder, just as shown below:

  • If the color of the left sidebar is green when you have clicked the “Button” element, then you are trying to edit content within a post or a page with Thrive Architect:

This is one way to tell if you are trying to edit a post or a page in Thrive Architect or in Thrive Theme Builder.

There’s also a second way that helps you identify the editor you are in.

If you are editing a page template in Thrive Theme Builder and click on an element that does not seem to be editable at a first glance, that might be because that element is a Thrive Architect element.

In that case, you will see a message in the right sidebar:

Similarly, if you would be in Thrive Architect and you’d stumble upon an element that would not be editable, that is because the element is part of a Thrive Theme Builder template and needs to be edited as such:

In both situations, you will be able to switch between editors from the post or page you are in just by clicking on the tooltip that appears in the right sidebar.

Hopefully, this article managed to clarify how to tell whether you are editing content in Thrive Architect or editing a template in Thrive Theme Builder.
