Would you like to stop your Thrive Themes subscription from renewing? In this guide, we’ll walk you through cancelling your subscription from your account, including the extra step you need if your billing runs through PayPal. All you need is access to your Thrive Themes account.
Thrive Suite is a paid collection of products that renews each year. If you cancel, your subscription will not renew at the end of your current billing period, but you can keep using Thrive Themes products until that paid time runs out. You’ll see your renewal date on the Downloads tab of your account.
Cancelling Your Subscription in Your Thrive Themes Account
You can cancel most Thrive Themes subscriptions yourself from your account. This stops future renewals while keeping your access active until the end of your current billing period.
1. Log in to your account at thrivethemes.com/login and click the Billing tab in the menu at the top of your account dashboard:

2. Find your active subscription and click Cancel next to it.

3. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the cancellation.

Once you confirm, you’ll see a message letting you know the cancellation went through:

Note: If you do not see a “Cancel” option next to your subscription, your billing is likely managed through PayPal. In that case, follow the steps in the next section as well. If you don’t pay through PayPal and still see no “Cancel” option, reach out from the Support tab of your account, and an agent will process the cancellation for you.
Cancelling a PayPal Subscription
Some Thrive Themes subscriptions are billed through PayPal as Pre-Approved Payments. If your subscription is managed in PayPal, you must cancel the payment agreement in PayPal in addition to the cancellation steps in your Thrive Themes account.
1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Go to Settings » Payments » Manage Automatic Payments.
3. Find whitesquare GmbH in the list (this is the billing entity for Thrive Themes subscriptions).
4. Select the agreement and cancel it.
Requirements: Cancelling in your Thrive Themes account does not automatically cancel the PayPal Pre-Approved Payment. If you pay through PayPal, complete both this section and the account cancellation above, so you are not charged again at renewal.
Understanding What Happens After You Cancel
If you cancel before your subscription expires, you keep access to your products and account benefits for the rest of the paid period. For example, if you purchased in January and cancel in March, you can continue using your products until January of the following year.
When the paid period ends, you lose access to: the ability to add, customize, or use Thrive products, updates and new features for installed products, the Thrive Product Manager, ready-made cloud templates, and technical support from our team.
Existing website content built with Thrive Suite plugins is not removed when your subscription ends. That content continues to display as it does today, but you will not be able to use new templates or add and customize Thrive features on the site after the license expires. You can read more in our guide on what happens when your Thrive product license expires.
Resubscribing After Cancellation
If you cancel, you will need to make a new purchase to use Thrive products on new websites. While a subscription stays active, your renewal price does not change, and you keep the same rate for as long as you remain subscribed. That pricing protection does not apply after you cancel.
That’s it! You now know how to cancel your subscription with confidence. If you’re switching payment methods rather than leaving, take a look at our guide on switching PayPal accounts for your Thrive subscription.
