Share the Love
The Thrive Leads dashboard has a heart icon in the top right corner beside the Settings.
Clicking on this icon will let you share information about our product on your social channel.
Lead Groups
Lead Groups are similar opt-in forms you can create under one category. A lead group can also be considered one marketing campaign under which you can build multiple forms to be displayed on one page.
Thrive Leads further helps you manage these forms by setting different targeting and display settings for each.
The Lead Groups section on the Thrive Lead dashboard displays the list of groups created on the website.
To create your first Lead Group and understand its settings, please refer to the section about creating a Thrive Leads form.
Lead Shortcodes
Thrive Leads allows you to create forms using shortcodes. This form is usually used when you want to display a form as a part of the page content.
Creating such a form will give you a shortcode to copy and paste into the post or page content editor.
Do you want to know how Lead Shortcodes are different from Lead Groups? Here’s our document that’ll help you with that.
ThriveBoxes
ThriveBoxes are the forms that pop up on your website pages or posts when a user clicks on a chosen element.
For example, a ThriveBox is a popup that can be displayed when a user clicks on a piece of text, image, or any element on the page or post. This can be done using shortcodes. To know more about ThriveBoxes and to create them, read our document here.
The ThriveBoxes table on the Thrive Leads dashboard displays a list of ThriveBoxes created and lets you create new ones.
Signup Segue
Signup Segues in Thrive Themes allows you to register users by clicking a link.
For example, instead of sending an email to your list asking them to submit another form for a webinar, you send them a link that registers them automatically for the webinar when clicked.
You can learn more about Signup Segue in the tutorial here.
Different Kinds of Forms in Thrive Leads
Thrive Leads offers different forms, depending on where you want to show them and the expected outcome.
Here’s a quick list of form types available in Thrive Leads:
- Ribbon Form: This is a horizontal form displayed on the top of your page. The ribbon form sticks to the top while you scroll up and down the page.
- Lightbox Form: This is a form that appears in a popup covering the page content.
- Widget Form: This is a sidebar opt-in form displayed in the WordPress widget areas.
- Post Footer Form: This is an in-content form displayed as a part of the page content. You’ll need to paste the form shortcode at the bottom of the post so that it gets added there.
- Screen Filler Lightbox: This lightbox covers the entire screen, hiding page content.
- Scroll Mat: This is again a full-screen lightbox that appears on page load.
- PHP Insert Form: This is especially for those who’d like to build and add their forms anywhere on the website using PHP code.
- Slide-in Form: This form slides in from the sides of the screen, covering the page content.
To learn more about different form types in Thrive Leads, see their examples in our detailed documentation here.
Building Your First Form Using Thrive Leads
With Thrive Leads, you get three ways to build an opt-in form.
- Using Lead Groups: That’ll help you build and design different opt-in forms segregated into other groups depending on the campaign they serve. For example, opt-in forms built for the Black Friday sale will go under one group, while a newsletter opt-in form will belong to a group related to Email list building.
- Using Lead Shortcodes: When you create opt-in forms with Lead Shortcodes, you can display the form as a part of the page content. This means you can design the form using Thrive Architect and use the given shortcode in the page or post to which you want to add it.
- Using ThriveBoxes: These are lightboxes displayed when a user clicks on the selected text, image, or any other element on the page.
To know how each of these opt-in forms can be created and edited, please refer to our detailed document here.
Understanding Display Settings and Triggers in Thrive Leads
Display settings and triggers will allow you to decide when, where, and how you would like an opt-in form to appear.
Each form-building method gives you different display settings and triggers to choose from.
With advanced display settings and triggers, you can control the following:
- When would you like the form to appear? (on page load, after a certain period, when a user scrolls a certain percentage of the page, when a user reaches the bottom of a page, etc.)
- Decide how long you’d like to wait for a form to be shown to a repeat viewer.
- Select an animation or the way a lightbox appears on the page.
- Select the position where you’d like a slide-in form displayed. (For example, Button right, bottom left, top right, top left)
- Manage display settings for an entire Lead Group.
To learn more about using display settings and triggers effectively, please refer to our detailed document here.

Understanding Performance Parameters and Tracking Form Performance
Designing and displaying opt-in forms has always been a good idea to increase engagement and conversions. But tracking their performance to know the impressions obtained, conversions made, etc., will help understand what’s working well with the audience.
To watch the statistics, open your WordPress admin area and navigate to Thrive Dashboard >> Thrive Leads. This will take you to the Thrive Leads dashboard, where you’ll see the statistics under Today’s Summary.
The statistics on the Thrive Leads dashboard are as follows:
- Unique Impressions: How many visitors did I have to my site today that haven’t visited my site before 30 days? If they have visited your site in the last 30 days, they are not counted as a unique impression as it is a repeat visit, and the impression has already been tracked against the day of the original hit.
- Conversions: The number of people that have submitted their details through a Thrive Leads opt-in form in the current day.
- Conversion Rate: The conversions are expressed as a percentage of unique impressions.
Following this, you can also view the statistics for Lead Groups, Lead Shortcodes, and ThriveBoxes in their respective tables on the Thrive Lead Dashboard.
To know more about tracking conversions and performance in Thrive Leads, please read our document here.
