  • Martin says:

Looks great but very similar to Hybrid Connect which I purchased. Looks like the page for HC doesn’t exist any more so there will be no more updates or improvements I guess.
Will there be any special offer for HC buyers to get Thrive Leads as well? Or maybe free upgrade to Thrive Leads?

    • Karim A says:

      Hi Martin,

Login to your HC account and you would find the discount link there 🙂

      • Martin H says:

I am not sure where you mean. Hybrid-connect is redirected so you probably mean Thrivethemes.com, I also purchased Content Builder so I can log in. But there I can not see any discount link for Thrive Leads.

Only for the whole package but I don’t need Themes and there are also recurring payments.

        I am missing it?

      • No, Karim is correct (thanks Karim). Login at http://members.hybrid-connect.com and you’ll see a link to the special offer from within the members area at a very low price.

      • Martin H says:

I found it . Thank you.

      • Regarding it being similar to Hybrid Connect, there are many improvements:-

        – The visual editor for building forms uses our Content Builder technology which is market leading for creating content
        – Much more powerful split testing engine with automated winner settings and far more robust reporting engine
        – Ability to create “Lead Groups” to target sections of your site with different offers
        – Large array of templates that are more professional and up-to-date in design
        – Faster and more efficient loading times
        – Ability to create ribbons (you couldn’t do this in Hybrid Connect)
        – Ability to create two step forms

Thrive Leads has been built from the ground up with a team of highly skilled developers and is the next level up from Hybrid Connect.

Over the past few years since launching Hybrid we simply got better at building software and this Thrive Leads product is evidence of that.

      • Samith P says:

What a fantastic special offer – thanks! 🙂

  • Phil says:

Of course I want this new Thrive Themes product. Any discounts for owners of Hybrid Connect, Shane?

  • Cristina says:

I really look forward to more training from the Thrive Themes team. Love the product and want to get better!

  • Keith W says:

Here’s what I want to do:
Capture an email address to a list, then have the subscriber taken to an URL of my choice.

I worked with Thrive Leads yesterday and could not figure out how to do it.
Question: Can that be done with Thrive Leads? How?

Thanks for all the good info, Shane!

  • Mark Watkins says:

Shane: I recently purchased Hybrid Connect and am curious about how Thrive Leads compares side by side. Like Martin I wonder if you would consider price break for current Hybrid Connect users?

  • Dean Patino says:

Congratulations Shane and team! I’m excited to use this exciting new list building WordPress plugin to take my online business to the next level!

  • Priscilla S says:

I’m loving Thrive Leads so far, Shane! My opt-in forms look a lot more professional now, and I’m excited to find out which ones will convert better in the split tests. I’m also looking forward to your webinar, since I learnt so much from the last one I watched.

A question I have about effective list building is how to work out what the best opt-in offer would be for my audience. I have some ideas but worry that they will only appeal to a portion of my readers.

    • That’s what the split test features is for. Run different offers side by side and test them. Would suggest running only one form type at a time to preserve the integrity of the test.

You’ll then be able to see which offer converts the best and will be able to extend that offer to all form types that Thrive Leads provides (banner, widget, post footer, lightbox, slide in)

  • Linda says:

I have send pepper, and unless someone has a premium account for about $300 a month, I believe I have to connect the leads manually. This makes for a huge learning curve for people like me who aren’t as tech savy as some who purchase these products.

I would love to see detailed tutorials about using these things manually to connect with our autoresponders.

  • Horst says:

Will this new plugin also be part of your membership offers? In other words: when I purchase a (agency) membership, will I have access to this plugin?

  • David says:

I hope the powerful feature of Hybrid Connect is also in Thrive Leads: the option to make the popup appear really slow. This function is the reason I got 3x more subscribers with HC then any other optin plugin I used.

  • Gary Kaminski says:

    Sean….

Great improvement over Hybrid Connect, which I also own by the way. My continued faith in Thrive Themes is well placed. What next, Thrive membership, Thrive forms or possibly Thrive ecommerce? Keep it up and I won’t have to go looking anywhere else!

Just a question as far as compatibility. I’ve been giving it some consideration to switch part of my mailing list to begin with to a self hosted service from one of the popular autoresponder guys and then use a third party email delivery service for reliability. Have you had a chance to test Thrive Leads with something like MailPoet, MyMail, or Sendy yet?

  • Patricio B says:

    Hi guys :
I think most of us are blind front the fadein animation in my case I think works better another kind of entrance animation.
For example the animation when you try to go out from the page in http://optinmonster.com/ , for me works better, because is different and when I see something different then that take my attention.
    Just my opinion
    Thanks for your amazing work

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Patricio,

There are many entrance animations you can choose from, in Thrive Leads. You can also test different animations against each other, to see which one converts best.

  • David H says:

Have started using Thrive Leads and impressed so far.
Please can you implement better integration between ThriveLeads and ThriveContentBuilder; e.g. insertion of 2-step lightbox shortcode into tcb.

    Is that webinar time correct?
It is coming up as: Sat, Feb 21, 2015 1:00 AM – 2:30 AM GMT
And that seems a bit whacky!!

    Thanks
    – David

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi David,

The webinar is taking place on Friday at 8 PM EST. If you’re in Europe, that’s not a great time, unfortunately.

We’re working on a new feature set for 2-step and multi-step forms that I think you’ll really like.

  • John says:

what does thrive leads provide that thrive visual editor (which I have) does not?

    • Thrive Leads allows you to create and split test lead capture forms for your blog in different locations (for instance banner, widget, post footer, lightbox and slide in).

Thrive Content Builder and landing pages allows you to create content in a post/page or build a landing page from scratch or using templates.

  • Mike Lazarus says:

    Shane, awesome job.

I just want to tell everybody that I had a general question about WordPress frameworks a few days ago and I was debating on whether Thrive Themes would be a solid solution for my project. Shane personally answered my support ticket, and he did an amazing job. (Shane, can I publish your response in my ebook?)

I personally work for a guy that owns a pizza shop, and I’ve been working there for 8 years because the owner is still involved in the everyday operations of the business. I get the same feeling with your company.

I’ll be purchasing within the next 4 days. Keep up the good work. I’m glad you are not selling water cooling devices anymore.

  • Peter S says:

Ok, my question is opt-in / thrive content builder/opt-in / or Thrive lead plugin. The reason is the same, or not?List-building…So which is better to use? Please help me to deciding?!

  • Debra G says:

    Couple questions:
    1) I’ve been using the ribbon in Thrive Themes to direct people to a lead generation page (not to directly sign them up with the ribbbon). Would that be possible with Thrive Leads, and if so, can that ribbon be split tested?
    2) Can we only split-test Thrive Leads forms? If we have a lead generation page, which uses a 2-step optin form – can we only split-test the optin form, but not the original page that generates it? Thanks.

    • Hello Debra, I’ll attempt to answer these questions:-

      1) While it is possible to create a ribbon that doesn’t capture leads but instead contains a button that redirects the user to a landing page, currently we don’t have any mechanism for tracking button clicks as conversions. Split testing would therefore not be applicable to the this use case. However, this comment has given me an idea to implement something that would handle this scenario.

      2) Yes, the split testing facility in Thrive Leads is solely for forms built within the plugin.

      Hope this helps.

      • Dan N says:

Hi Paul, I had the same questions as Debra – may I ask what your idea is on how to handle such a scenario?

  • Tom Z says:

Great you have scheduled this webinar! But it is 2 AM in my time zone. Will it be recorded and accessable in the members area?
And I must say: I like Thrive Themes very much and the added features are pretty valuable!

    • Hello Tom, yes the recording will be available from within the members area. Apologies for the time zone, it’s difficult to accommodate for everyone with customers around the world!

  • Jimmy S says:

Hello, I purchased the plugin through the link on Hybrid Connect but have not been sent the plugin download link. It has my purchase recorded ion the Members Dashboard. Thanks a bunch. Jimmy

  • David says:

Shane, this new addition to Thrive Themes is great. I have several different plug-ins like this, but this one is really great. It fits perfectly with the themes and is seamless. One thing I was wondering, will we be able to put video in the background. It is something that I have been looking at for my landing pages and was not sure if this is available.

    Thanks,

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi David,

You can add a video as an element to the forms, yes. But we don’t have a video background feature. The reason is that so far, video backgrounds seem to just be a gimmick and I’ve not seen any data to suggest they help with conversions.

My main gripe with video backgrounds is that they add so much data to the page (easily several MB to load even a short video). That means they slow down your site speed, which is a guaranteed way to lower conversions. So unless they more than make up for that, they will not be worth using.

      • David says:

        Hi Shane,

Thanks for the response. I understand what you are saying and get your point. There is probably too much going when there is video in the background. I love the plug-ins and the themes. I was able to build a funnel for one of my products in a matter of hours and it looks great.

One thing that I did have a bit of an issue with was identifying the background pattern when I was setting up the pages. I forgot to write down the pattern number, but was able to fix it thru the html function. That was really a blessing.

        Thanks

        David

      • Shane Melaugh says:

Thanks, David! I’m not quite happy with the background pattern feature, either. I want to improve that and make it easier to use custom patterns. Unfortunately, this is one of those small changes that’s not very important so it will probably be a while before we get around to it.

  • Scott Dennison says:

When will you be integrating with Active Campaign? It’s the fastest growing email marketing system out there and I’ve switched to it exclusively. Please add the integration…

  • Jim says:

My main autoresponder’s html code won’t work with the plugin. Can I send it to someone to look at so maybe it would work with future updates to the plugin?

  • Eran Malloch says:

Hi Paul. I am interested in Thrive Leads, but have some questions and was hoping you could help please?

    1) I want to have exit-intent “pop-overs” showing up on my site when people arrive via PPC traffic (adwords & facebook in particular). However, these networks are VERY touchy about pop-ups/overs for paid traffic and will usually ban your account if you use them. Is Thrive Leads something that is going to be safe to use (and if yes, WHY do you say this) in this scenario?

    2) How does your product compare with LeadPages, which is an obvious competitor? I know yours is just designed for WP only and theirs can be used on WP & with their own hosting, but from a functionality point of view, what is different/better/worse between Thrive Leads & LeadPages?

    3) I used to have Hybrid Connect (purchased it thru my employer at my last job, but they do not use it since I was the only one in-house who could design websites, etc.) Is there any way I can access the client discount if I don’t have access to their account anymore? If no, I also own several Thrive products so was wondering if that offers any discounts either?

    4) I use ActiveCampaign as my email tool. Does Thrive Leads work with it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Eran

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Eran,

      1) We have an exit intent feature and it works the way this type of feature should work. It only triggers once per session and it only triggers on a proper mouse-out.

Whether an ad network will allow it or not is not up to us, however. There’s no way we can determine this; we just provide the technology. 🙂

      2) LeadPages actually has very little in common with Thrive Leads. The only commonality I can think of is that they have a “Leadbox” feature which is similar to our 2-step opt-in feature. Everything else, from the form designer, targeting options, different form types, trigger settings, how and where you can display forms on your site etc. is unique to Thrive Leads.

LeadPages much more closely resembles one of our other products, Thrive Landing Pages.

      3) We can only make the Hybrid Connect discount available to the owners of the Hybrid Connect member accounts. As a Thrive customer, there are two discounts you can make use of: the first is the launch discount that (as I’m typing this) is still available. The second is that you can become a Thrive Themes member at a reduced price and get access to Thrive Leads as well as all other products in our lineup.

      4) Yes, Thrive Leads works with ActiveCampaign.

  • Juan C says:

I would love to see an option to have a expiration date built in so that CTA’s would go away after xx day and time.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Juan,

Can you elaborate on this? What would be an example scenario where you’d use this feature?

      • Juan C says:

        Thanks Shane.

I would use this feature as to have a time sensitive “voucher” system that would enable me to have discounts for a specified period of time (sort of a timer) and to have it marked as either “sold out” “No longer available” or even disappear from the page / post.

IE: CTA using thrive leads pops up then it states somewhere on that pop up – “expires 02/20/2015” Get your FREE blah – blah – blah. When 02/20/2015 comes around the above mentioned messages would appear – does that make sense ?

      • Lauren L says:

I agree 100% with Juan – I think this would be an excellent addition for Thrive Leads. I think what Juan is referring to is more of an “evergreen” offer that would allow us to present an offer to each visitor that begins and expires based on when the visitor first visited the site. (Using cookies.) For instance, if I visited thrive themes on March 1, you could make an offer that lasts for 10 days, starting on March 1 and ending on March 10 (for me). If John visited the website on April 5, his offer would begin on the 5th and end on April 15th. Timerlay ( http://home.timerlay.com/ ) and Countdown Monkey ( http://countdownmonkey.com/ ) offer this feature exclusively. I also recently noticed that a marketplace leadpage also integrated this option. Hope you’ll consider this great suggestion – and thanks for all your wonderful work…the plugins are fantastic!

      • Shane Melaugh says:

This is similar to a something we want to develop, but it will be developed as a separate plugin. Stay tuned! 🙂

      • Juan C says:

I also hope you consider this idea 🙂

Looking forward to many more features.

  • Tim T says:

Hi guys. I’m assuming that all the lightboxes and slide-ins in Thrive Leads are all mobile responsive? One of the issues I had with Hybrid Connect (which is why I’m really excited by this plugin) is that the lightboxes took up whole screens on mobiles and couldn’t be closed or clicked so were bascially useless. Were you able to fix this issue?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Tim,

Yes, everything you create in Thrive Leads is fully mobile responsive. There’s also a mobile on/off option, so you can determine whether a form should be shown or hidden on devices with small screens.

  • Allan says:

How customizable are the forms? Am I able to take one of your templates and completely change the fields using the drag and drop editor i.e. adding extra content (images etc) and removing some existing content.
And is it easy to add extra fields to the templates i.e. if I want separate first name and last name fields?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Allan,

The forms are 100% editable and customizable. And I really mean that. There is nothing you can’t do with our editor. You can add as many elements as you want, you can change the layout, order of elements etc. to your heart’s content, you can customize every aspect of every element you add (dimensions, colors etc.). You can even add custom HTML and CSS.

You can add as many fields as you want and checkboxes, radio buttons and drop-down menus are also supported.

  • Eran Malloch says:

Hi guys. I keep getting errors when I reply to a comment, so trying to add a new separate comment instead.

    Hi Shane.

Thanks for answering my question, but could I get a little more clarity on one answer please?

In Q1, you said “Whether an ad network will allow it or not is not up to us, however. There’s no way we can determine this; we just provide the technology.”

Given I don’t know what kind of technology you use to generate the forms, that’s difficult for me to answer.

On Get Rooster’s blog [blog.getrooster.com/google-bings-policy-exit-popups-exit-overlays/], they discuss this topic and had this to say:

“We’re often asked whether Google allows marketing overlays on webpages with incoming pay-per-click (PPC) traffic with Google Adwords.

And since Google is notorious for disabling advertisers who aren’t fully compliant, it’s an important question.

A quick explanation of Google’s policy

Google does allow modal overlays that open within the same window the user was browsing.
Google does not allow pop-ups that open in a separate window from what the user was browsing.”

“Google describes marketing overlays (such as a Rooster Exit Overlay) as interstitial ads.

The confusion around exit overlays lies within the lexicon. Often, marketing overlays are incorrectly referred to as pop-ups—we even do this sometimes for context—but there’s a big difference. Pop-ups open in a new browser window and impede navigation, while overlays populate within the existing window and don’t impede navigation.

And since the vast majority of marketing overlays don’t prevent users from entering or exiting sites—or interfere with the user experience during browsing—Google allows them for Adwords campaigns.”

“[Rooster] Exit Overlays don’t interrupt navigation or stop users from completing their desired task. Visitors are not inhibited from pressing the ‘Back’ button or the ‘X,’ and can close the overlay by clicking anywhere in the browser.”

Bing’s policy explicitly states that the “Back button must be functional and allow users to return to the previous page.” Since Rooster Exit Overlays do not affect navigational function, they are permitted on the network.

Based on this information Shane, is thrive leads going to be safe to use with AdWords & Bing? Does it use “compliant” technology (modal overlay, etc.)?

    Thanks very much.

    Eran

    • Shane Melaugh says:

We use what’s referred to in this quote as a “marketing overlay” or “modal overlay”. We do not have a popup feature. I try to avoid the term “popup” because it is in fact wrong, but the problem is that the wrong use of the term is very widely known and recognized. More so than the correct terms “modal” or “lightbox”.

  • Eran Malloch says:

BTW, I thought u might like to see the error msg so you can track down the issue and fix it.

ONLY when I replied to a comment, it said this:

Simple Comments could not retrieve the password from the server. To fix this turn JavaScript on in your web browser. If you are the blog owner, turn off Nonce Security, or turn on Generate Comment Form. If there is still a problem, you will need to deactivate plugins until you find the one breaking communication to WordPress.

  • sean O says:

    Hi Shane,

Love your products. Been a happy and loyal customer since the old Backlink Battleplan days. I have a Thrive Theme membership and I also bought HC when it came out. Just to clarify, do members get access to Thrive Leads for free?

Also, with the agency option, can TL be used on other themes?

    • Hello Sean,

As a member you get everything. All themes, all plugins and everything we release in the future (believe me there’s some good stuff on its way) for as long as you remain a member.

Regarding the agency license – yes you have the right to use the product on other themes and also on client web sites.

  • Daniel says:

Hi there, can u please tell me, whether I could use the plugin with other themes as well?!
    Cheers, Daniel

  • Tom says:

Is there a demo or example site to see Thrive Leads in action?

  • Priscilla S says:

    Hi guys,

I have a feature idea/request from one of my readers. They would like the option for people commenting on their site to join their list by ticking a box in the comment form.

I know many sites (including this one) have the option to subscribe to comments this way, but would it be possible to integrate the comment form with Thrive Leads so they can subscribe to your actual email list?

@Tom – I’m using Thrive Leads on my blog if you’d like to see it in action, but I’m not using all the different forms yet.

    • Priscilla S says:

@Tom – Sorry, I didn’t realize it doesn’t link my username to my site when I’m logged in to my customer account. You can see Thrive Leads on my blog at http://www.chronicblogger.com .

To Shane or Paul, something weird happened when I tried to comment while logged out. I kept getting the following message:
Simple Comments could not retrieve the password from the server. To fix this turn JavaScript on in your web browser. If you are the blog owner, turn off Nonce Security, or turn on Generate Comment Form. If there is still a problem, you will need to deactivate plugins until you find the one breaking communication to WordPress.

Javascript is enabled in my browser, so I’m not sure what’s causing this.

  • Jim Brill says:

Your Leads plugin page has an agency license for $127. Does this include all of your ThriveThemes themes and plugins or just the Leads plugin?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

That’s for the plugin only. If you want the agency license for all our products, the current price is $190/year (soon to be increased to $247/year).

  • Donavon G says:

Great stuff guys! Any plans to integrate this functionality back into the new plugin?

    http://hybrid-connect.com/hybrid-connect-now-integrates-with-wysija/

    Keep up the great work!

  • AlekNovkovski says:

    Important Pre-Buy Question.

Does it actually have all the core functions of hybrid-connect? Specifically, does it offer the main thing hybrid-connect offered. That is an ability for the optin-form to “intuit” if the visitor is a facebook user… If they are show a “optin with fb” button, if not a fb user, show an “optin with email” form.

Does it still have that hybrid-connect feature?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

No, the hybrid feature is not in this plugin. We got rid of it for 2 reasons. First, we noticed that Facebook Connect became less and less effective over time. It seems that while it was still new, it lead to high conversions but over time, people got weary of it and it started leading to worse conversions. Second, it had a high impact on loading speed, because we had to load Hybrid Connect, then send a request to Facebook and wait for that to come back and then load the actual form. We decided that the feature wasn’t worth the performance hit anymore.

  • Mark B says:

Is there any plan to add the ability to select/display selected forms based on the traffic source?

Also select/display selected forms based on pixels from retargeting?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Mark,

We don’t have features like this yet, no. Can you elaborate on the retargeting idea? That sounds interesting.

  • Jason S says:

I just purchased Thrive Leads but was disappointed to find that it does not integrate with Mail Poet. Will you be updating this soon?

  • AlekNovkovski says:

No, the hybrid feature is not in this plugin. We got rid of it for 2 reasons. First, we noticed that Facebook Connect became less and less effective over time. It seems that while it was still new, it lead to high conversions but over time, people got weary of it and it started leading to worse conversions. Second, it had a high impact on loading speed, because we had to load Hybrid Connect, then send a request to Facebook and wait for that to come back and then load the actual form. We decided that the feature wasn’t worth the performance hit anymore.

Does it at least still have an “opt-in through facebook” option?

Not hybrid. Just as an option.

Or do you have to ask the user for email directly?

    • Dean P says:

It only contains email, no Facebook integration

    • Shane Melaugh says:

We don’t have that as an option, no. It’s something I’d consider for a feature addition, but from the data I’ve seen it looks like social login has gained some popularity, but social signups might not be a very useful thing…

  • Bruce B says:

Thrive Theme – and all that comes with its monthly membership – is a GOD-SEND! Absolutely, consider myself a big ‘ole fan – utterly brilliant and the best available option that I have seen – ever.

I’m a right-brain oriened person – just not into code, HTML, CSS beyond the low-level basics and I gloss over when I have to look at a spreadsheet despite running my own business for over 20 years. For non-techies and creatives, your extensive training and deep knowledge base is *greatly* appreciated and make it easy to recommend and sign up as an affiliate.

I quickly got pages up to throttle up sales(I am at almost $20K w/ a recent book launch that started 7 days ago) and am looking forward to turning other features on in the coming weeks – and integrating other aspects of the plug-in and themes in the coming weeks of this 7-week launch period.

    3 quick questions:

    1. Does TT integrate with Constant Contact? If not, is there a way to opt-in boxes to forward a prospects email via direct email? (I use Aweber, too but for this most recent launch, would like to us Constant Contact, if possible)
    2. When will the Feb. 19th Thrive Leads webinar be posted?
    3. Is there a formal process to present requests? For example, I would like to request more ‘sales page’ templates. True, though, it is fairly easy to design one’s own but I sure would like to use ones that have been optimized by professionals like yourselves. 🙂

Looking forward to all that you will be offering in 2015….

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Thank you very much, Bruce!

      1) It seems that Constant Contact have removed the option of creating a simple HTML signup form. Very strange of them. Unfortunately, that means we currently can’t integrate with this system.
      2) The replay has been made available. Please check your inbox for the link.
      3) I’ve been wanting to put some feedback/voting system in place for requests, but haven’t found any satisfying solution so far.

  • Dan N says:

Having used Thrive Leads a little while, I have to say it is really fantastic and a real pleasure to use. The ease of editing forms and setting up tests is really great. Seeing the tests quickly and easily makes the whole testing process much easier than using google analytics in my view.
Given the great infrastructure of this plugin, I wonder if it is possible to also include landing pages to the plugin so that you can also tests these the same way? Is there any plans to do so?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Dan,

We have a tentative plan to extend the kind of split testing features you see in Thrive Leads to Landing Pages and other parts of WordPress. However, this will probably happen late in the year, as we’ve got many other plans to finish first.

  • Arnfinn Nilsen says:

This certainly looks like a very good tool and I like your approach to this concept a whole lot. Regarding features that takes this tool to a new level, I have a question/suggestion; Is it possible to offset images?
    With this I mean to place a transparent png image so that it seems to float out of the frame/box. If it’s not possible within the current code, I would suggest that it could be accomplished in two different ways;
    1. By be able to set placement of images outside of the actual frame, or
    2. By having the actual canvas transparent and have everything placed within that boundary, with the illusion that the png image is floating outside the box (when designing with offset images it’s important to be able to have the main box appear in the center).

If this is possible and something you would like to add, I think this would be a feature that many could experience valuable benefit from… 🙂

  • Katie says:

Does Thrive Leads integrate automatically with Mail Poet?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

We don’t have an integration with MailPoet yet, but we’ve received a few requests for it. We’ll see what we can do. 🙂

  • Lewis says:

Oops! It seems it’s not compatible with the theme we’re currently using: Salient, from ThemeForest. When opening the visual form editor, we don’t get the editor, just the dark background with the dark grey text; no sidebar, no template selection…

But we’ve tested in another of our sites and the zip contents work; is loading fine.

Jquery conflict maybe of some sort?

  • Juan C says:

    Good evening Shane,

Would love to get your input on this article.

    http://socialtriggers.com/header-removal-test/

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Juan,

It’s a decent test, yes. The easiest solution is something I keep preaching about: every page should have a big, fat headline at the top. 🙂

  • Jenny says:

I am interested in Thrive Leads, a quick question and was hoping you could help please?

Can Thrive lead also simply display a promo/advert/info they read click to be taken to another page etc?
plus can you insert video (talking head etc) ok and use something like EVS as your player of choice?

    • Hello Jenny – yes to all your questions, except currently conversion tracking on clicks is not currently implemented so while you can build ads, the split testing part won’t work for you. We are looking at click tracking on buttons as a feature to implement shortly, though.

  • Hello Joanna – There is some confusion because your account looks active to me – I’ve sent you an email directly about this.

  • Shane Melaugh says:

    Hello Joanna,

As far as I can see, your account is active, so you should be able to post in our support forum. This is where you get help for Thrive related products the fastest.

  • alireza S says:

1-So we don’t need to buy aweber now?
2-please tell me what kind of other plugins we should have plus thrive for the best WP website?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello,

You still need to connect Thrive Leads to an email marketing system like Aweber or something similar. Thrive Leads is only responsible for the forms on your website, not for the processing of the email leads that sign up.

A plugin I recommend often is WordPress SEO by Yoast. Apart from that, the plugins you use really depend a lot on your site. You can check out this training webinar for some more recommendations.

  • alireza S says:

Thank you for very great content for teaching wp from scratch !I have worked one year with these plugins but when I watch your videos found out that nobody had never presented this quality videos like you!

  • Barry Moore says:

Shane, congrats to you and the team, it is a great product.

On thing I would like to see is the ability to specify a Thank You page URL for each opt-in box or lead group. LeadPages currently does this and it is very helpful for the following scenario.

If you are using something like ActiveCampaign and you have one list and are segmenting based on tags, having a single TY page becomes and issue.

For example in ActiveCampaign the default thank you page is defined per list. However typically you may have many forms that join a user to that list and tag them on the way in. You would use Form A to sign up and track someone who has opt-ed in for Lead Magnet A (and tag them with something like ‘LM: A’), then you would like to send them to Thank You page A. If they opt in and get tagged from Form B, I want to send them to TY page B.

LeadPages has a field to specify a Thank You page URL (that overrides the list default) per squeeze page or LeadBox. It would be great if ThriveLeads had a similar feature.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Barry,

To get a little bit technical: this requires that we set up an API connection for autoresponder services. It’s something we’ve been debating for a while, because it means a significant amount of development work and also ongoing maintenance (API changes are unfortunately common). In other words: it increases the cost on our side quite significantly and it does so for a feature that few people will be willing to pay extra for.

Right now, I can’t tell you whether this is something we’ll implement or not. It’s still in discussion.

      • Big Jason H says:

+1 for API integration. 😉 As far as ActiveCampain goes, I don’t recall an API change (requiring a third-party vendor to change their code) for over a year+… What about just submitting the autoresponder code in the background and passing submitted data (if checked) to specified thank you page?

      • Russell F says:

Shane, I just wanted to congratulate you on a masterful piece of software. LOVE Thrive Leads. Also wanted to give my vote to Barry M’s request: I’m struggling with delivering targeted lead magnets from segmented thank you pages, using TL and MailChimp. I would use the new Asset Delivery option, but that negates two-step, confirmed opt-in. As Barry points out, Leadpages allows for (1) specification of a unique lead magnet for each box; and (2) dedicated thank you page. Thanks, Russ

  • Big Jason says:

I would love the ability to override the thank you page redirect of our email service provider… especially ActiveCampaign.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Jason,

Great to see you here! I’m an ERW customer. 🙂

See my reply above: we’re still discussing with the team whether this is an implementation that we can reasonably do or not. I’ll let you know when we come to a conclusion.

      • Big Jason H says:

Thanks Shane. I see you bought the very first frontend version of ERW back in the day. You should see the Gold version. The more advanced stuff is in there. 😉

    • Shane Melaugh says:

Update on this: API integrations are coming. Including for ActiveCampaign.

  • Kathy Catlin says:

Shane- I don’t know where else to leave this request….I am having trouble logging in as a member and cannot activate my account as a result. Please let me know what to do. I upgraded my membership yesterday and the log in was working fine. Today I cannot log in.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Kathy,

I’ve just sent you an email with your login data, via our membership system. The account we have on file is a gmail account. Please check and you should be able to log in with the credentials inside.

  • Joanna G says:

I am have having a small error with your plugin. When the ribbon slides down and pushes my header down, a thin black line appears right below my header. How do I get rid of that black line? Thanks.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Joanna,

Please post this in our support forum, so that our tech guys can take a look at it. Thanks!

  • Rita S says:

Hi TT-Team, i used the Thrive Leads yesterday for the first time. And it is really great. I worked before with Option Monster and a long time with the sumo-me apps. But Thrive Leads is much more better and easier to handle. thanks a lot!

  • Ed says:

Back to the re targeting question from above. This would be a nice feature to add.
The Smart Leads plugin already has this built into it. It works like this: When anyone who clicks on your link is added to a custom audience. Then you can re-advertise to any or all of your custom audiences through any of the re-targeting services.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Ed,

So, this is managed via link clicks rather than opt-ins? Sounds interesting, but it seems like it might be more suited to a separate plugin.

  • Michael E says:

    Hi Shane and Paul,

Just catching up on Thrive Themes | RSS Feeds – as I begin creating two new websites! And frankly there is nothing WordPress out there to touch what you are doing….

Just a thought – You might consider changing the training webinar link above (Click here to register your spot!) to (Click here to watch the First Thrive Themes Training Webinar).

  • Annie A says:

I just logged into the HC members area and I dont see the discount? Am I too late to get it? I never even knew one existed.

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hi Annie,

The discount was available for 2 months, but has now been removed. Sorry if you missed it. We sent out many emails to everyone on the Hybrid Connect list, trying to make sure everyone would see it in time.

  • Renee says:

Hi – I am looking for this plugin on the WordPress list & cannot find it. I want to purchase, but I like the simplicity of installing through WP. How can I locate it?

    • Michael says:

      Hi Renee –

You can find it here: http://thrivethemes.com/landingpages/
and google Thrive Themes for the rest!

      Hope that helps,

      Michael

      PS Thrive software is fantastic!

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Renee,

Our products are not listed in the WordPress repository, because that’s meant for free products. You’ll have to download the plugin through our member dashboard and then upload it to your site.

Once installed, you can get all plugin updates via the usual one-click update through the WordPress interface, though.

  • Brian says:

Does Thrive Leads strictly work with WordPress sites? Or can it also produce HTML code to use on other sites to capture leads (as long as the main files are housed on a WordPress site)? I’m thinking of products like SumoMe and the LeadPages LeadBox system that all work cross-platform. Thanks!

  • Victor says:

    Can’t post a reply, so opening a new thread…

Re: “Update on this: API integrations are coming. Including for ActiveCampaign.”

Awesome! Do you have an ETA for this feature?

  • Wolfy says:

    Hi,
I’ve heard that Facebook blocks Thrive Leads,
is this true and if so…do you have a solution…fix for this…?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Wolfy,

I’m not sure in what way Facebook could block Thrive Leads… there’s no connection between the two. Can you link me to a source of this claim?

  • Jonathan C says:

question So I bought Thrive Leads and have built a 2 step light box and it was super easy changing the button color, changing the headline but how do I get rid of the name field so it”s not required and vanishes. my testing before coming to Leads shows that asking for more than email decreases opt in”s

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Jonathan,

If you use the HTML form integration method, then you simply make sure to create a form that only has an email field. The form in Thrive Leads will then also only have the email field. If you use the API integration method, you can just uncheck the “Name” option when setting up your fields in the last step of the integration.

      • Craig C says:

        Hi Shane
I have a client who wants first name and surname in 2 separate fields . Is this possible with Thrive leads ?

      • Shane Melaugh says:

        Hi Craig,

If you have an autoresponder or CRM system that lets you generate an HTML signup form with separate first and last names then you can integrate that with Thrive Leads, yes.

  • Andi says:

Hi, I’ve been searchng your Website up and down for over ten minutes, but I can’t find the pricing plan for Thrive Leads. Is that Option gone and Leads it’s only available via the annual plan?

  • William S says:

    Hi Shane,
Just bought the plugin and connected to my Mail Chimp API. I have a few lists, but just curious to know how to link it to a specific list within Mail Chimp. I didn’t see anything intuitive so thought I’d ask. Thanks in advance. Kind regards

  • St. Elmo Edwards says:

Nice product. Is there a plugin or tutorial on placing podcast to the website? Please advise at your earliest convenience.

  • Andreas says:

how about the slow down of my site if i use this plugin? how much slower will it be ?

  • fausto maria bonifacio says:

Should me amazing if the data could go directly in google contact and not in an autoresponder…
google module dont have good graphic like thrivelead

  • Aaron H says:

Unable to locate the google penalty for pop ups. Will thrive themes plugin be affected by this google penalty? Please advise. TY

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Uff…

Okay, first, it is not a penalty. Second, it doesn’t affect pop-ups.

I’m not blaming you for getting this wrong, as there’s a lot of nonsense being said about every Google update ever. You can learn more about what this Google update really is and how we’ve updated our plugin in response, in this post.

  • Malaury A says:

    Hello,

(I’m french sorry for my english) : Can I deactivate my licence on my website and then activate it on an other website ?

    • Shane Melaugh says:

Yes, this is possible. We don’t have an automated way of doing it yet, but our support team can do it for you.

  • Umashankar A says:

    Hello shane,

Just seeing amazing videos, I purchased Thrive Leads plugin. Looking at all options looks amazing. But, when it comes to working i’m not sure if it only supports your themes?

I have themify theme on my site, try to use this plugin. but not working raised a support request, finally come to know whole theme is a problem for this.

I just changed my theme to my mythemeshop schema theme, this time Thrive leads optin editor works but, mailchimp connection not working.

The whole lot of story i’m explain the way support team reacting . It’s been 3 days i raised a request, it doesn’t take much time to see if it works on my theme or not . still no response what so ever.

As a developer, I purchase items on so many places, but, I haven’t seen the kind of support.

Even though, you don’t solve a problem at the moment when someone raise a request, just kind of acknowledgement makes a lot of sense.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Umashankar

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Thanks for your comment!

Thrive Leads is built to work with all WordPress themes, not just the ones we create. It’s still possible that a theme creates a conflict with the plugin, but in my experience, it’s much more likely that it’s a different plugin creating the conflict, than the theme you’re using.

In any case, if you have a support request open about this, our team will take care of it as soon as they can. Sorry if it’s not as fast as you were expecting. We are doing our best to keep up with our growing customer base and taking on new support staff on a regular basis.

  • Philipp says:

    Hey!
I bought the Hybrid Connect Plugin years ago and I am wondering if the promotion code is still available. The link which was shared somewhere above does not work anymore.

One more question: Are the pop-ups of thrivethemes mobile responsive?

  • Michael says:

How do I connect Thrive with a program like “Mailster” plugin for WordPress thank’s guys you have a great system!

  • Dev says:

    • Shane Melaugh says:

      Hello Dev,

I’m sorry to hear that you have a technical issue. Unfortunately, the blog comments aren’t a place where we can help you out very effectively. Please open a support ticket so our team can take care of this problem for you.
