So, the TLDR: With Woocommerce no membership plugin is required?
Hi Eddy,
Woocommerce will take care of taking the payment from your customers. Thrive Apprentice will protect and only give access when someone bought the product so for selling a course you won’t need any membership plugin!
Wow! Are you serious. So just a double take. Someone will only have access to a Thrive Apprentice course once payment has been made through Woo. This seems like the holy grail that most people have been waiting for. No membership levels and no messing around with membership plugins. Am I right???
You are right Castells 🙂 If you don’t need complex things like drip delivery or protect other content than the course you DON’T need a membership plugin 😀
Wow, hats off you the Thrive team! I love your constant and never ending improvements! Raving fan over here! ????
Yay! You guys seriously are smashing it out of the ball park. All good things come to those who wait ????
So is this a good replacement for SendOwl?
And can you still do all the things like offering coupon codes etc, without paying extra?
Hi Tim,
Yes this can replace SendOwl.
Coupon codes are part of WooCommerce so you can use coupon codes. If you’ve been using other features of SendOwl you’d need to double check (like the affiliate program for example) for a WooCommerce add-on that fits your needs.
Whauu – this looks awesome:-)
I have one question before I dive in. I already have a member-site with woocommerce members-plugin. Is it possible to import member data into Thrive Apprentice?
Right now, I have 7 different members-areas/courses in WCC-members-plugin.
I guess that I first have to make the same 7 courses in Thrive Apprentice. Is it then possible to import/export those old member-data into Thrive Apprentice?
Thanks,
Best regards,
Peter
Hi Peter,
Wow that sounds like a complex setup you have going on…
In Apprentice, we have the “customers” tab that allows you to manually add people either one by one or via CSV to add them to the right Thrive Apprentice course.
Hi Hanne,
Thanks – That is all I need to know.
One question.
How is it complex?
I know it a lot of work, but It is just 7 products with videos courses and some customers have access to more than one course.
So, is it not just to repeat the procedure of setting a course up seven times?
Best regards,
Peter
I read that you had 7 different environments for the courses. Might have read that wrong
🙂
Hi, looks good. However, maybe i’m missing something but: It looks like Apprentice hooks into the order status process and sets the status of a purchase automatically to ‘completed’. That’s ok for course orders but it also does this for ANY order even if no course is involved (e.g. physical products that need to be shipped).
So is there a setting to restrict this status change behaviour to actual course orders or is it incompatible with an existing shop and physical products just yet?
Hi Peter,
Thanks for letting us know this slipped through the cracks a fix will be pushed out very soon. So with the next update this will be corrected.
Hello i have all thé tools but not THrive thème cause i use an other them. Can i still archive thé course and paiements ?
Hi Pierre,
Yes Thrive Apprentice and Woocommerce will work independently from the theme you’re using.
Will it be possible to make special offers with thrive ultimatum? Because I use this for people who buy in a special period of time…
Hi Patrick,
At the moment there is no deep integration between WooCommerce and Ultimatum which means that it won’t be automatic.
But you can of course set up a sales page with a discounted price using WooCommerce.
Great course, thanks…???? I have thrive themes and has just started to build up my first course in Apprentice… What would be the main differences to choose the Woo Commerce integration, or, SendOwl…?
Hi Therese,
There are quite a bit of differences… SendOwl is an external checkout tool. You don’t install anything on your website. WooCommerce integrates with your site (and you’ll have to install the plugin and set up the correct pages etc.)
There’s also the difference in price, WooCommerce is a free solution where SendOwl has a (low) monthly cost.
You can learn more about the different solutions here: https://help.thrivethemes.com/en/articles/4924755-should-i-integrate-with-a-checkout-tool-a-membership-plugin-or-both
Hanne, that article seems in need of an update, at least in the comparative table of reasons. At least a couple of “Use a membership plugin if…” seem to be unnecessary with the current abilities of Apprentice, e.g. to drip content or turn your whole site into a membership site.
Hi Tim,
Thanks for letting us know. I asked the documentation team to update the article to reflect the membership and drip capabilities of Thrive Apprentice.
Thats the solution I was waiting for… Thank a lot ThriveThemes !
Yay! Best wishes for a successful course launch.
Fantastic. Do you have any advice on how to switch from Membermouse to woocommerce and have all the people signed up to the right course with the right passwords. Never had to do something like that before.
Is it possible to use this setup with a free course funnel similar to the one you have outlined here: https://thrivethemes.com/courses/free-course-funnel/ ?
Hello. I was wondering does this course go over how to make a ‘My Account’ section in Thrive Apprentice instead of a WordPress dashboard when a user logs in?
Hi bob, at the moment this course does not cover that, but I will note this as a request.
I’m really excited about this, my only question is can I block lessons and courses until prerequisite lessons and courses have been completed?
Not yet… But it’s on our dev roadmap.
Do I still need WooCommerce if I have Thrive Themes and Thrive Cart?
No ThriveCart replaces WooCommerce
Christine ROCKS!!
Good day, I have a request. Could you create a course/lesson for those of us who sell physical products through Woo and Thrive?
The perfect example for the course would be clothing, shoes, shirts, trousers etc. Because so many stores sell clothes.
If it could have 1 or more examples of funnels for physical products in the post/course that would be fantastic.
A lot of emphasis is put on digital products. But, many of us sell physical ones.
Thank you, Patrick
