Why Trust This Guide?
I’ve worked in marketing for years (7+ years) building funnels for myself, for family, and for paying clients.
Along the way, I’ve tested just about every sales funnel tool you can think of (and suffered through more than a few). I’ve seen what works in real business scenarios — and what looks good on a sales page but falls apart in the real world.
Now, I teach business owners like you how to make smarter choices than I did in the beginning so you can build a system that actually converts, scales, and makes sense for how you work.
This guide is the result of years of real testing, real frustration, and real wins. If you're building on WordPress (or thinking about switching), this is where you find the clarity to move forward.
Why These Keywords Keep Showing Up in My Analytics
Over the past few months, I’ve noticed people searching for terms like best WordPress sales funnel, sales funnels for WordPress, and even sales funnel website builder.
It makes sense — because if you’re building your business on WordPress, you don’t just need another plugin. You need the best funnel builder that brings your pages, checkout, and conversions together in one flow.
Why I Chose These Top 7 Sales Funnel Builders and Tools for WordPress (Key Criteria)
There are a lot of funnel tools out there — from flashy SaaS platforms to under-the-radar WordPress plugins. But most either fall short in key areas or introduce unnecessary complexity as you grow.
The five tools in this guide weren’t chosen for popularity. They were chosen because they meet the criteria that actually matter when you're building a funnel that converts — especially inside a WordPress-based business.
Here’s the filter I used to narrow it down:
If a tool didn’t meet most of these, it didn’t make the cut.
There’s no “perfect” funnel builder — there’s just the tool that fits your workflow, your business model, and how hands-on you want to be. The right choice depends on the level of control you want, the type of funnels you’re building, and how much you value flexibility vs convenience.
Here are the core factors to help you decide:
1. WordPress-Native vs Hosted Platform
A WordPress-native builder (like Thrive Suite or CartFlows) gives you full ownership, design freedom, and lower long-term costs. A hosted platform (like ClickFunnels or Kartra) gives you speed and simplicity but less flexibility.
2. Core Functionality
Look for a tool that covers the essentials:
Page building
Email automation triggers
Checkout or payment processing
Analytics and performance tracking
Lead capture
If a tool forces you to add five extra apps just to launch, it’s not a funnel builder — it’s a maintenance plan.
3. Ease of Use
Your builder should make launching faster, not harder. That means:
Drag-and-drop editing
Clean, modern templates
Visual workflows
No coding required If you feel overwhelmed during setup, it’s the wrong tool.
4. Integrations
Your funnel builder should plug into the rest of your business:
Email service provider
CRM
Payment gateway
Webinar tools
Ecommerce or LMS
Smooth integrations mean fewer headaches later.
5. Scalability + Transparent Pricing
Entry pricing is seductive — but what happens when your list grows or when you add more funnels? Choose a tool that scales with you, not against you.
If you want full ownership and design control → WordPress-native. If you want convenience and speed → hosted platform. If you want a hybrid approach → tools like GetResponse bridge the gap.
What’s the Right Sales Funnel Builder for Your Business Stage? (Quick Breakdown)
Before choosing a funnel builder, it helps to see how the top platforms stack up side-by-side. Every tool on this list solves the same core problem — turning strangers into customers — but they each take a very different approach. Some are WordPress-native and give you full ownership and flexibility; others are hosted platforms designed to centralize everything in one place.
This comparison table pulls together the most important details: ratings, pricing, best use cases, and whether the tool integrates naturally with WordPress. It’s a quick snapshot to help you understand which tools align with your business model, your budget, and the level of control you want over your funnels.
Use it as your at-a-glance guide before diving into the individual reviews.
Sales Funnel Builder Comparison: Hosted vs. WordPress-Native

SeedProd | 4.5/5 | Simple landing pages & beginner funnels | $31.60/year | ✅ Yes |
CartFlows | 4.7/5 | WooCommerce users optimizing checkout flows | $49/year | ✅ Yes |
ClickFunnels | 4.5/5 | Hosted, fast-launch funnels | $97/month | ❌ Hosted |
Systeme.io | 4.8/5 | Beginners & budget-conscious creators | Free | ❌ Hosted |
Kartra | 4.4/5 | All-in-one automation + client delivery | $119/month | ❌ Hosted |
GetResponse | 4.5/5 | Email marketers adding funnels & webinars | $15.60/month | ❌ Hosted |
Summary: How to Choose the Right Funnel Builder
If you want full design freedom inside WordPress — and a funnel stack you actually own — Thrive Suite and CartFlows are the strongest picks. They give you deep customization, clean integration, and predictable pricing as your business grows.
If you prefer a hosted, all-in-one platform where everything lives in one dashboard, Kartra, ClickFunnels, and Systeme.io deliver structure and convenience without the maintenance that comes with plugins.
And if email is your backbone, GetResponse sits in that sweet spot between “simple email tool” and “lightweight funnel builder,” making it perfect for webinar funnels, lead magnets, and evergreen follow-ups.
What matters most is how you want to work. The right funnel builder is the one that matches your workflow, your growth goals, and the level of creative control you want day-to-day.

The Top Sales Funnel Builders and WordPress-Friendly Tools (And What They’re Really Good At)
As you’ve probably guessed by now — I love a good deep dive.
And after testing more sales funnel builders than I care to admit (some delightful, some… traumatic), I didn’t just walk away with a favorite. I uncovered patterns, pitfalls, and a few funnel-building truths that no one seems to talk about — and I’ll share those with you later.
But first, let’s talk tools.
I reviewed each funnel builder based on the stuff that actually matters when you’re building a real-life, conversion-focused funnel — not just tinkering for fun.
Here’s what I looked at:
- Ease of use – Can you launch something decent without needing a 3-hour tutorial?
- Marketing capability – Does it help you capture leads, follow up, and convert?
- Scalability – Can it grow with your business, or does it tap out early?
- Pricing/value – Are you getting solid functionality, or just fancy fluff?
- Strategic flexibility – Can you build the kind of funnel you need, not just what the templates assume?
With those in mind, let’s walk through what each tool is actually good for — the real use cases, not the marketing speak.
And if you’re wondering how to stack these tools up side by side? Don’t worry — I’ve included quick summary tables and scores so you don’t have to squint at every paragraph.
Let’s rate some funnels.
If you’re searching for the best WordPress sales funnel builder, Thrive Suite tops the list — not just for its integrations but because it’s built to keep every part of your funnel inside WordPress.
Okay, full disclosure: this is the funnel builder I use. Not just because I know it inside and out — but because after trying nearly every major tool out there, this one made the most sense for how I work and what actually gets results.
And yep, I liked it so much I started writing for them. That’s how confident I am in what this tool can do — I’ve seen it work from both sides.
Thrive Suite was the first time I felt like everything finally clicked. No sketchy integrations, no “oh wait, that doesn’t work with this plugin” moments — just one beautifully connected ecosystem where every tool pulls its weight.

Here’s what’s in my stack:
- Thrive Architect for building landing pages that actually guide attention (instead of just sitting there looking pretty)
- Thrive Leads for creating high-converting opt-ins exactly where they need to be
- Thrive Quiz Builder for segmenting leads without making them feel like they’re being sold to
- Thrive Apprentice for delivering content, lead magnets, and full courses without needing Kajabi-level $$$
But the real win? It’s how seamlessly everything works together. I can tag someone based on a quiz result, send them to a custom sales page, and show them a unique offer — all without jumping between five different platforms or praying my Zap holds up.
There are so many ways to structure funnels inside Thrive — quizzes, lead magnets, micro-courses, evergreen series — and because it's all in one system, you're not guessing whether it’ll work. It just does.
I genuinely wish I had found this setup three years ago. Would’ve saved me a lot of “why is my funnel broken again” moments.
Thrive Suite Pricing
You get all these tools for $299 in your first year. This allows you to invest in other areas of your business, all while building funnels that drive results. This subscription also comes with access to our customer support team who are ready to help you navigate any challenges you come across.
2. SeedProd – Best for WordPress Users Who Want Simplicity First, Funnels Later
I have a soft spot for SeedProd. It’s one of those tools I recommend to friends who are just starting their websites and don’t want to spiral into tech overwhelm.
SeedProd often shows up in “best funnel builder for WordPress” searches — and for good reason. It’s simple, visual, and ideal for creators who just want fast results.
I’ve used SeedProd for simple, time-sensitive launches where the goal was clear: publish a clean opt-in page, connect it to an email list, and move forward. It’s especially helpful when you’re just getting started and want to focus on your offer — not your tech stack.
Everything about SeedProd is geared toward ease. From the drag-and-drop interface to the growing library of templates (including new AI-generated options), it’s designed to help non-technical users build fast, functional pages with confidence.
It’s especially great for those early-stage funnels — Opt-in → Thank You Page → Email follow-up. No extra bells, no scary integrations, just a solid, visual way to get your offer out there.
Great for:
- Solopreneurs launching lead magnets, waitlists, or one-product offers
- WordPress users who want to build branded pages without writing a line of code
- Creators who value simplicity and speed over deep customization
- Businesses that already have an email provider and just need clean, conversion-ready pages
- Anyone looking to launch quickly — without investing in a complex system upfront
While SeedProd isn’t a full-featured funnel builder, that’s not necessarily a downside. It’s built to be lean, focused, and refreshingly straightforward. For more advanced funnel strategies — like quizzes, A/B testing, or evergreen offers — you might eventually pair it with other tools or upgrade to something more integrated.
But if your goal is to start lean, launch fast, and stay focused on your audience — SeedProd makes it easy to move from idea to published page in record time.
SeedProd Pricing
SeedProd does have a free version, but you'll need to pay for the premium plugin to access advanced features.
You have four pricing plans to choose from:
Basic: Starts from $31.60 per year
Plus: Starts from $79.60 per year
Pro: Starts from $159.60 per year
Elite: Starts from $239.60 per year
3. CartFlows – Best for WooCommerce Users Who Want Optimized Checkout Funnels
For people looking for sales funnels for WordPress, CartFlows is a natural choice — it upgrades your WooCommerce checkout into a high-converting funnel.
If you’re selling products through WooCommerce and you’ve ever looked at the default checkout page and thought, “This could be better,” — you’re right. And CartFlows is how you fix it.
This tool doesn’t try to do everything. But what it does — customizing and optimizing your checkout experience — it does surprisingly well. It’s like giving WooCommerce the sales funnel features it should’ve had from the beginning.
I first used CartFlows on a client project that needed post-purchase upsells and smoother checkout flows, but didn’t want to rebuild the store or commit to a $100/month SaaS. With CartFlows, we added a multi-step checkout, clean thank-you pages, and tested order bumps — all without touching a line of code.
It worked. And it’s still working for a lot of WooCommerce store owners who just want better conversions without leaving WordPress.
Great for:
- WooCommerce store owners who want to control the customer journey without switching platforms
- Creators selling physical or digital products directly from their WordPress site
- Businesses that need to increase average order value with upsells and order bumps
- Site owners who already use a page builder (like Thrive Architect or Elementor) and want branded, on-brand checkout flows
- Anyone who’s outgrown the default WooCommerce checkout but doesn’t want to commit to ClickFunnels-level pricing
That said, CartFlows isn’t a full funnel builder. It doesn’t handle lead gen, list segmentation, or automated email logic. If your funnel starts with an opt-in or a quiz — or if you’re offering a course or membership instead of products — you’ll need to pair CartFlows with other tools or consider an all-in-one solution like Thrive Suite.
CartFlows Pricing
There’s a free version with basic functionality, but for serious funnel control — including upsells, order bumps, and full sales flows — you’ll want the Pro version, which starts at $49/year.
4. ClickFunnels – Best for Fast-Launching Marketers Who Want Hosted Convenience
ClickFunnels is one of the most well-known names in the sales funnel space — and for good reason. It’s built for speed, simplicity, and done-for-you structure. While not WordPress-based, ClickFunnels is one of the most popular sales funnel builders overall, making it a strong alternative for hosted setups.
When I first tried ClickFunnels, it was during a sprint to launch a product in under two weeks. I didn’t want to piece together plugins, worry about hosting, or spend hours on design. With ClickFunnels, I had a working opt-in → email → sales page → checkout flow live in a couple of days. And for that use case, it delivered.
ClickFunnels is especially helpful when you just need the funnel — not the full website.
But it comes with trade-offs. The design flexibility is limited. The editor can be a bit clunky. And while everything is in one place, you’re also locked into their system. You don’t own the infrastructure — and you pay for that convenience.
Great for:
- Digital marketers and coaches who want to launch a funnel without touching WordPress
- Course creators or service providers who need a fast way to collect leads and sell offers
- Anyone running a live launch, challenge, or webinar funnel that doesn’t require long-term site infrastructure
- Business owners who prefer done-for-you templates and hosted tools over plugin-based flexibility
- Teams that want built-in email, checkout, and upsell features with minimal setup
ClickFunnels works best for fast-moving marketers who value convenience and speed over ownership and customization. But if you’re building a long-term business on WordPress, the monthly cost and closed ecosystem might catch up with you.
ClickFunnels Pricing
ClickFunnels starts at $97/month — and scales up quickly if you want features like affiliate management, email automation, or unlimited funnels. There’s a 14-day free trial, but no permanent free plan.
5. Systeme.io – Best Free Option for Absolute Beginners
If you’re brand new to funnels and your budget is basically “vibes and determination,” Systeme.io is shockingly generous for a free tool. Systeme.io regularly ranks among the best free sales funnel builders, especially for beginners testing ideas without committing to premium tools.
I’ve tested it on a few mini-projects, and honestly? It does a lot more than I expected for something that costs zero dollars to get started. You can build basic funnels, send emails, sell digital products, even whip up a simple course — all from one dashboard. It’s like a scrappy little all-in-one that actually tries to help you win.
Great for:
Building your first lead generation funnel
Selling digital products without extra plugins
Creating simple landing pages + thank-you flows
Running a mini email list or online course
This tool is perfect if you're in MVP mode — testing an idea, validating an offer, or just getting your first online business funnel up and running without a huge tech learning curve. And it doesn’t throw 19 upsell popups at you every time you log in, which I respect.
Would I use it for a long-term, conversion-optimized business? Probably not. The design options are limited, the email tools are basic, and once you start needing things like advanced automation or more polished branding control, you’ll start to feel the walls close in.
But as a free place to learn, experiment, and build momentum? Systeme.io punches way above its weight.
Systeme.io Pricing
As I said earlier, you can get a lot out of Systeme.io’s free plan, but they also offer three paid plans:
Startup: from $27/month
Webinar: from $47/month
Unlimited: from $97/month
6. Kartra – Best for Creators Who Want Everything in One Place (Without Touching WordPress)
Kartra is one of those platforms that tries to do it all — and honestly, for a lot of people, that’s the appeal. It’s designed for creators, coaches, and online business owners who want to build funnels, send emails, sell products, host memberships, and manage customers… without ever needing to open WordPress or stitch together plugins.
Kartra shows up in almost every “all-in-one funnel builder” roundup, and after using it on a few small client projects years ago, it’s clear why: it’s opinionated, structured, and intentionally built to keep everything under one roof.
The real power comes from how tightly everything connects. Build a landing page, trigger an email sequence, unlock a course module, send a follow-up SMS — it’s all right there in the same dashboard. No Zapier bridges, no plugin troubleshooting, no “why won’t this integrate?” headaches.
Great for:
Coaches and consultants who want a single tool for funnels, emails, and client delivery
Course creators who want built-in memberships without extra plugins
Busy solopreneurs who prefer structure and predictable workflows
Anyone who wants zero tech maintenance — no updates, no patching, no plugin conflicts
Businesses that value convenience over deep customization
But the trade-off is predictable: Kartra is not WordPress. You sacrifice the creative freedom, ownership, and agility that come with a WP-native setup. The page builder is solid, just not as flexible as a dedicated tool like Thrive Architect. And because everything lives inside Kartra, you’re committing to its ecosystem long-term.
Still, for the right creator, Kartra simplifies everything.
Kartra Pricing
Kartra runs on subscription-based hosted plans. The entry price is higher than WordPress plugins, but that’s the trade-off for an all-in-one platform.
Here are the starting prices:
Starter: $119/month
Silver: $229/month
Gold: $339/month
Platinum: $549/month
Kartra also offers discounts on annual plans, but the monthly pricing gives a more realistic snapshot for most creators starting out.
Kartra isn’t for you if you’re building a fully branded WordPress ecosystem, or if you want pixel-perfect design freedom. But if your priority is running your business — not managing your website — Kartra bundles everything together in a way that just works.
7. GetResponse – Best for Email Marketers Who Want to Add Funnels Without Switching Platforms
GetResponse is one of those tools that quietly stuck around for decades because it focused on doing one thing exceptionally well: email marketing. But over the last few years, it’s evolved into a surprisingly capable funnel builder — especially for small businesses that want to grow beyond newsletters and autoresponders.
If you already use GetResponse (or you’re tired of juggling three different tools just to get a simple funnel live), this platform gives you pages, funnels, email automation, webinars, and ecommerce features in one clean, familiar interface.

GetResponse is built with marketers in mind. The visual automation builder is still one of the most intuitive I’ve used — it’s the kind of flowchart you can understand at a glance. And the Conversion Funnel tool takes you from “blank page” to “live funnel” using guided blueprints that walk you through each step: opt-in → email sequence → sales page → checkout → confirmation.
It’s not trying to be a ClickFunnels replacement or a full Thrive Suite alternative. Instead, it’s a softer bridge — perfect for beginners or small business owners who want funnels that just work, without rebuilding their entire tech stack.
Its page builder is clean, the templates are modern enough, and the ecommerce features (like abandoned cart emails) are surprisingly solid for a tool that started as an email platform.
But the standout feature? The webinar builder. GetResponse is one of the few email-focused tools that lets you run live and on-demand webinars natively — no expensive webinar platform needed.
Great for:
- Email marketers who want simple funnels built inside their existing tool
- Small businesses running webinars, lead magnets, or basic product funnels
- Creators who need reliable email automation with built-in pages and checkout
- Anyone who wants a unified toolkit without moving away from email-first marketing
- Businesses that prefer predictable pricing and a gentler learning curve
Where GetResponse falls short is in design flexibility — the page builder won’t match the visual control you get with Thrive Architect. And because it’s a hosted system, your funnel lives inside GetResponse, not your WordPress site.
Still, for email-first businesses, it’s one of the easiest ways to build simple yet effective funnels without migrating to a full all-in-one platform.
GetResponse Pricing
GetResponse offers several flexible plans depending on your list size and features:
Here are the starting prices:
Email Marketing: Starts at $15.60/month
Marketing Automation: Starts at $48.40/month
Ecommerce Marketing: Starts at $97.58/month
GetResponse MAX: Custom pricing for larger businesses
There’s also a limited free plan that covers basic email and landing pages — great for testing the waters before upgrading.
Stop Blaming the Tool. Your Funnel Needs Strategy.
Let’s have a moment of truth: it’s not always the funnel builder’s fault.
Even with the right tools, I’ve had funnels flop. Yup — even now. You test an idea, launch with excitement… and then? Crickets.
But here’s the thing — those flops are where the gold is. Every failed funnel teaches you something that helps you build the next one smarter, cleaner, and more efficient.
Because while the tool helps you execute, it’s the strategy that drives results.
Yes, the tech matters. But even the best sales funnel software in the world can’t fix a weak offer, fuzzy messaging, or a funnel that’s trying to do too much at once.
Here’s what I’ve learned (the hard way):
The right funnel builder makes things easier, yes — but you still need a strategy behind it. Otherwise, you're just putting lipstick on a landing page.
Unconventional Funnel Ideas (That Actually Work)
Let’s step outside the basic “opt-in → email → offer” formula. These ideas aren’t just clever — they convert.
Use a quiz as your top-of-funnel filter Segment leads while warming them up. It's more fun than a form and 10x more useful. → How to Use Quiz Funnels to Increase Conversions
Try a hybrid funnel: Thrive Suite + Checkout Page Quiz → Segmented sales page → Stripe checkout → Upsell. Simple, clean, super effective.
Build a micro-course funnel Lead magnet → Email series → Free mini-course → Pitch the full program. → Free Course Funnel Tutorial
Re-engage with push notifications Use PushEngage to send timely nudges even after someone leaves your site. Flash sale? Reminder. Abandoned cart? Nudge. New content? Ping.
Sometimes your best-performing funnel isn’t the one you planned. It’s the one you dared to test.
FAQs About Choosing the Best Sales Funnel Builder for WordPress
Absolutely. While the customer journey is less linear, the funnel model remains essential for mapping touchpoints and guiding people toward a buying decision. WordPress-based funnels adapt well to modern user paths, combining content, email, and checkout in one seamless flow.
Start with audience clarity. Then create high-value lead magnets, write compelling copy, run A/B tests on landing pages and CTAs, and use analytics to identify leak points. Iteration is everything.
Most failures come down to weak messaging and unclear offers. If the offer doesn’t solve a real problem, conversions drop. Other issues include too many steps, slow-loading pages, and lack of trust-building elements.
Funnel software automates follow-up sequences, personalizes user journeys, optimizes checkout flows (bumps, upsells, downsells), and gives you data to make smarter improvements.
The Best Funnel Builder Is the One That Fits You
After testing more tools than I care to count, here’s what I’ve learned:
There’s no single “perfect” funnel builder — only the one that matches how you work, what you’re selling, and where you want your business to go. Some platforms prioritize speed. Others offer deep customization. A few do both (with varying degrees of success). But at the end of the day, the best tool is the one you’ll actually use — and stick with.
Here’s a simple breakdown to guide your decision:
New to funnels and working with a tight budget?
Start with Systeme.io — it’s free, generous, and a solid way to learn the basics.Running your business on WordPress?
Thrive Suite is built for you. It gives you full control, smart conversion tools, and a stack that grows as you do — without the duct tape.Managing multiple client funnels or reselling services?
GoHighLevel is designed for agencies that need volume, automation, and white-label capabilities.Want a fast, done-for-you system that’s hosted and ready to go?
ClickFunnels delivers a solid experience — especially if you’re launching fast and don’t need deep customization yet.
Choosing your funnel builder is more than a technical decision — it’s a strategic one. Pick the tool that fits your goals today, with enough room to grow tomorrow.
→ Try Thrive Suite and build the kind of funnel that finally feels like it fits you — not someone else’s strategy, not someone else’s tool stack. Yours.

Thanks for this great article that shares so many options and directions! I am a huge Thrive Suite fan — and I love how confident you are in your product that you are able to openly share info about competitors.
